LSR engine cooling

    ok guys with lakesters streamliners & others who dont run a radiator...how do you cool an engine that has 1000 horse power or more.I could take a guess. let me hear from you...thx in advance

    water tank, that let the water flow into the engine and back to the tank, say with like a rv water pump. water tank bigger the better if you have the room. You may want to ask about this on Landracing.com

    The water in the tank acts as a heat sink. If you start off at 140 or so you may only be at 200 degrees at the 5. Depends on the size of the tank and heat generated by your engine. Turbocharged engines seem to run much hotter. Some put a raditior in a tank filled with cold water. A lot depends on how much room you have for cooling.

  6. True, but it bumps you into the fuel cl***.

    I am planning a setup like Skips. Room in our lakester is tight so we will see if I can pull it off. Otherwise, just a simple tank.
