Any suggestions on how to lower my 65 Econoline van? Mainly the front straight axle. Does anyone know if a dropped axle can be purchased? Any and all info appreciated!!

i had my axle dropped but i havent installed it yet. i've got a stock one in there now with some leaves reversed. it depends how low you want to go. if you want to go super low, it's a big project as these vans were ment to be work trucks. my buddy had his axle dropped and it looked right and still drove well so i went that route. this sat the 14th is the econowest meeting at the rosebowl in pasadena ca. come on out!

Check out the 2 big van threads for more (60s Vans making come back? and Econoline Madness Who's got one? )
    Check over at vintage-vans.com too.
As a FNG with only one post, you might want to do an intro before the screamers come out.
Ryan who is the guy that started and runs this beautiful thing that is about traditional rods and customs kindly lets us chat about these ol' boxes. They are a big stretch as a rod or custom, so try to keep to the threads mentioned.

Check out "van body drops as well". Im bagging a 65 econoline myself but depending on how low you wanna go.....none are really easy on vans and require fairly extensive work. Every little bit it drops means somethings gotta be cut elsewhere and it just keeps getting crazier depending on how low.

Finally took some time to play with the 63. All I did was flipped the axles front and rear. of course i'm almost on the bump stops on the rear and had to change to a shorter shock in the front but it sits right where I want it. Now I can work around any body and frame issues that come up.
Up grading to an eight inch rear and going IFS up front with no bags. keepin it simple.
