I think it was 742 last year. the cool thing is this year, if you put your car in the cruise you get to wristbands to get into the music for free at the surf after the cruise. what are you driving up? I'm going to bring the 73 I.H. Scout. We're putting a different axle in it today.

clear lake iowa is the last place that Buddy Holly, the big bopper and Richie Valenz last played and then died tragically in a air plane crash. They played at the Surf, which still stands today. in Their honor they do a car cruise/show every year.

I did the cruise many times in the past. there used to be a BBQ place 3 doors east of the surf. great food great music (blues). maybe 15 years ago i was slow getting out of the surf parking lot. a young couple stood and watched each car with WOW all over their faces. I asked if they wanted to go with me on the cruise around clear lake, they jumped in and we he had a ball!!!

this is one of the nicest car events in the state of Iowa. the last 2 times i made it it was at a motel. I'm glad to hear its back at the Surf

Even though my car isn't even close to road worthy I'd love to cruise up to see this! Is there a website with info on it?
