I've got a chance to pick 4 of these wheels up in 14X6 small ford pattern ... which will fit my DD fairlane @ $200.00 for all 4.

Anyone know year of mnfctr. of thses??

Not sure who made them, but a full set with caps that are intact are pretty hard to come by. My guess is that the 14" size helped in their preservation.... Not a bad price if they all look like that one.

I believe your correct on the 14" size issue. I'd like to upgrade to 15" on the car but ... vintage wheels of the day are hard to come by. They do actually look like this & have all center caps.

I may pull the trigger on these tomorrow.

    Thanks for your thoughts hemi.

I'm a wheel nut, pun intended, but haven't thought of those wheels in a while. After some thinking, I beleive they were made by US Mag.

    http://www.cruizinconceptswholesale.com/usmag-wheels.asp

    and from another site:

    "US Mag Wheels
The longest running custom wheel tradition started in the mid 1960's when American racing legend Parnelli Jones and his crew chief Art Hale Sr. started up a wheel company called US Mags. Parnelli was affiliated with Firestone Tire and Rubber and needed a source for wide wheels to accomodate the performance tires of the day he was selling through his retail tire stores. US Mags were retailed in the Western States by Firestone company stores and Parnelli Jones' retail stores."

I know this thread is 5 years old but I also need to know the year these wheels were manufactured. got a guy wanting to run a set like them but we don't allow anything after 1967 in our group the Southeast G***ers. Thanks in advance.

Those look like the Keystone Kustomags I bought used in 1967 from my cousin the week before he went in the Army

They were first advertised in 1964

I think the ones in question are Parnelli Jones / US Mag but they do look a lot like Keystones.

US Mags was a client and they were marketed under a number of brand names in the early seventies. Hemi in post #4 pretty much nailed it.

Hemi said the company was started in the mid 1960's wonder if this wheel was made at the start or later. The rules in our G***er group don't allow anything later than 1967 so I need to know if before or after 67. I guess I could PM Hemi he might know.

Here's some info I posted a few years back - they were "Rebel Wheel Corp." wheels before they were changed to Parnelli Jones wheels. The shot of the Parnelli Jones cap was posted by another HAMBer. Sorry I didn't think to mark the year the ad came out, but I know it was from a mid-'60s Hot Rod. My magazine stash is stored away at the moment, if I get an hour or two this weekend I'll see if I can verify the date.

Phillips thanks so much, I feel like a pest but we try to stay as true to the era as we can but sometimes I run into things like this that I just don't know. The HAMB always seems to have the answers to help me.

You are welcome Quain. I'm about 90% certain the ad was from 1965, but I don't want to give you bad info. I'll take a look and let you know what I find. Hey @falcongeorge you got any early-mid '65 Hot Rod magazines handy?

Hi Quain, for what it's worth the ad below is on page 3 of July '65 Hot Rod. Might be useful in case somebody gives you any BS about the wheels.[IMG]
