American Graffiti, lincoln nebraska

hey guys,

everythursday night in lincoln they have "movies on the green". they bring out a big outdoor screen,some big speakers and a pop corn machine and candy stand and play movies outside on this little hill. so far they've play clock work orange, easy ridder and some other stuff but on august 11th they are playing american graffiti.

it starts around 9 oclock and every ones always welcome, and it is free. i just thought it might be cool to get some guys together to check it out, roll your old tin into town or bring the family hauler sounds like it could be a fun time.

its usaly a realy good turn out and thought itd be a cool night to have a local hamber get together or somthin.

again its on august 11, around 9, in lincoln for FREE.

the old ladys dad lives in lincoln... might have to make it up that night ... let her visit him and hit the movie.... have to talk it over with her though...

oh, and if any ones intrested into the hamb get togehter aspect but not digging on the movie, dont know why you wouldnt but ya never know, i think the rev horton heat is playing that night and and theres always some blues/rock playing at the zoo bar. so you could meet and hang out and then go catch some tunes instead of some garffiti

I think I may be down with this, 12th and R, isn't that on the campus of UNL(my ulma mattter, sp?, hehe)? I'll have to run it by the warden, ehem I mean my wife, though. Hehe. Would be cool to get together with a few others.

I wasn't really interested, but just heard that the legendary ROCKY might make it, so now it's a "Must attend" deal! (-:

Joking aside, sounds like a good chance to meet some local HAMBer's. I'll try to be there. I've seen the flick several times, but having actually lived the story (or something pretty near it) back in "the day", I'll be happy to at least bitch to you all about the phony parts.

 

my cousin lives in lincoln and i have more family in omaha and elkhorn... might have to make a road trip... look up jared alberico, he plays music and is known worldwide as the THEREMIN VIRTUOSO OF NE. and last i heard runs some little pawn shop...or is that during bonneville? hmmmm?

Speaking of Lincoln ..... I am flying out Aug. 15th returning on the 17th.. I am going to try to get tattooed while I am there... Any shops recomended so I can try to grab a appointment.... Any spots on the must see list...

Speedway Museum's pretty cool and if you need parts their warehouse is right across the street

 

dont miss the roller skating hall of fame in lincoln also.
