Had a great time, saw lots of cool rides and a few I'm still scratchin my head about (the 5+ PT's, the accord coupe and the ram truck). Had a helluva time at the titty bar Fri. night. My wife did too!!!! I was so into looking Sat. that I didn't take to many pics. Here's a few. Nice lil trump showed up Sun. morning... Different Caddy from Witchita... I'm too tired for more comments so just mo pics...
more... This was possibly the mildest custom I've ever seen. The body work was outstanding and the charcoal metallic really did the car justice...
nice poncho custom... Intersting tall T. It had a neat muffler setup on it. It consisted of a pair of cans about 3-4" round and about 12-15" long with caps on the end. It was a note that is very hard to describe. Did I mention it had an underslung frame...
Mo... Mike Shey's shoebox, good to see it in one color. Body and paint by Premier Paint and body in Witchita. Quite possibly the best custom project at the park.
Last one... Lil coffin redux... Well built 34, had pics of the guy and his kids digging it out of the field... Neat frame detail...
This Dodge kicks ass (at least I think its a Dodge) Any more pics... BTW My wife wants to steal yer lil custom... Very Cute!!
i read someone post that the PT Losers are bitchin up a storm at some shows that they want thier own "class" i thought they already did have a "special place" at the shows... right out in the parking lot between the Geo gassers, and the electric hybrid kemps
Great pics, thanks! The can's on the T were artillery shells. Gotta love his underslung front suspension.
That isnt a Dodge, its a Desoto.... it was at back to the 50's in minneapolis. the more you look at it, the more it twisats your head with the amount of work done to it.
That '33 is the one the is being presented as the '32 World's Fair pre-production model. It has H.L. Ford & Sons, Dearborn, Michigan embossed in the rear panel. We saw it at the GG Heartland Nats in Des Moines. It was causing alot of scrutiny as to whether it was legit, but it was still a very cool ride.
That De soto is fine .Anyone remember the character "Flakey Foont" from the old "Mr Natural" comics ? He drove one of those , i allways wondered what one of those chopped and with that big ass trunk would look like..
Hey JK, I was shocked to see how pretty your little girl turned out. Thank God it looks like momma!!! (She is precious) Thanks for picking up my slack and having your Merc in Salina. It was tough bringing a late model to the Spectacular. Poison Ivy looked kool cruising around town. See ya in a couple in Ft. Smith... Happy Trails, Mick Kool pics...........
Both you guys are wrong...it's a CHRYSLER...combination of '47 and '48...'47 front end on the '48 body, chopped and smoothed...all done in a two-car garage by the owner in his ColoRODo Springs garage...383" and auto...and it's DRIVEN everywhere! R-
Cool pix! And I saw the PT pickup sneaking around in one of the pics and I'm not ashamed to say I like it. At least the little I could see.
thanks for the pics. those are all the cars i would have taken pics of, awsome! i think out of all those cars i am most jealous of your daughter she is cute as hell !!! i think i need another one of those... enjoy
I'm still scratchin my head about (the 5+ PT's, the accord coupe If you follow the Trendsetter mag, the official KKOA mag, you will notice that for several months, Jerry Titus has been all over the "New Age Kustoms" since he boughtLadonna a 300M and "customized" it. It is the coming trend. sad or not. Jim
The KKOA has always had sumthin for the late model crowd, anyone remember the "smooth news" mag? Has anyone noticed that they are also an "OPEN" organization, open to all vehicles 1935 to present. Read that last part carefully.
I've pistriped two 300m's I think there good looking rides at least the owners seem to have good taste in stripers. I think if the pt were the size of a delivery truck they might be alright. I dont think the kkoa will ever be over run with new model stuff they already have there own scene. I think the ones you see at those events are people that have a love for both the old and new there all car people isnt that what is important. One big happy fucking family. Whats up with the 51 Buick that 50 grill seems to be just thrown on there no effort to make it look right.
