David Thompson from Tulsa, Okla passed over the weekend. David was only 64 years old and cancer of the brain took his life. From the time he knew of the tumor it was five weeks until his death. Many knew David from his flamed 1940 coupe or his 1956 Chevy Bel Aire. David's cars were like operating rooms, the most sanitary you have ever seen. He love buying neat cars and bringing them back up to good operating standards. David was a member of The Early Rods of Tulsa, NSRA, and had been a past member of Tulsa's Tri-Fives and Late Great Chevys. He leaves a wife (Rachel) and a son Bryan of California. He will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Him and my dad are probably trying to find the HAMB up there right now.... My dad found out about his brain tumor in November 2011 and passed away in March. Before my dad died he told me not to worry, there has to be hot rods up there or it can't be heaven. I like that theory. Sorry for your loss.
Sorry for your loss and his family also. It might not seem so now but those five weeks will be treasured by all who knew him. The sudden death, one minute fine, the next not are very hard on those who are left behind. God bless!
We buried David today. The chapel was overflowing. Take a few minutes today to hug the ones you love and tell them you love them. Cancer sucks. RIP David.
