hello all I have a 8v71 (yes I know) What I was wondering is where can I find a snout for it? I understand the end plates are different. etc...intake not a problem, carb adapters can build if I have to but do they interchange with inlines.. I know about the required conversion for gas use (I can do all required work) But I know it has been done as I have seen a few cars and boats running 8v71s but can't find info on drive snout interchange. Any help would be great (unless it's don't waste you time blah blah etc...) just need gunuine info and tip's as I am always up for a challange to my fab and machine work ability, Oh and the motor it's going is a 440 mopar thanks Damen
Get online, check out BDS, Blower Drive Systems. Good shop, I have had two blown cars, everything came thru them. A word of warning though, you may build your blower motor but you better build the rest of the car to handle it. This includes Rearend, driveshaft and transmission, exhaust system and radiator. The power of a big blown engine 6-700 horse up to 1000 horse will find and destroy every weak link! Good luck.
Dyers would be who to ask, they sold V 6-71 kits in the past. I'm pretty sure a later (more round style) inline front cover bolts up, just needs the corners trimmed down. Then use any regular 6-71 drive components.
Thanks for the advice guys! I just love the look of the 8v71 blowers,I am going to do some more hunting around for info, but the motor it's going on has changed to a 402 BBC as I was gave a BBC weiand 871 blower intake, so it will be going in my "farm Truck" drive train not an issue in the truck as it has a Hand Built racing powerglide and a 31 spline nodular 9" rear with disc brakes. motor has forged and nitrated crank, forged rods and pistons. with 2"full length headers.(It has only taken me 10 years of scratching up parts to get her this far.....) Chopo, thats the same thing my wife said lol
