Carb spacers for early Carter 4 BBL?

Is there such a thing? I need to put a dual quad setup on a Nomad with power brakes. I don't want to drill the intake, so if I can find 2 spacers (so both carbs remain the same height), the rear can be drilled for a vacuum fitting. Thanks

 

Option B:

Many original equipment units used a vacuum source through a hollow carb stud. I am pretty sure they are available somewhere. If not, they are easy to make (I have made dozens over the years). The stud extends maybe 3/8~1/2 inch above the mounting nut. This portion of the stud has no theads, and is smooth to accept a vacuum hose. If you can't find one, the local FLAPS has steel studs. Obtain one with the correct thread and length for your application, chuck it up in your lathe, and drill a hole lengthwise through the stud.

I've seen those. They're OK for vacuum advance or a vacuum modulator on an automatic trans....but not nearly enough volume for a power brake booster or PCV (I need both of those)

To use a spacer on the dual quads for the small block, you should machine a spacer to duplicate the flange gasket profile of the gasket you show. The figure 8 gasket was done because of idle and off-idle issues with these carbs on the 283. If you have a 350, the open spacer might be OK.

You might try making the spacers out of 1/2" delrin and get a little insulating effect, too.Try your closest plastics supplier.
