Yes there are similarity's, I thought you were saying it was a Rambler. My mistake, sorry.

  16. Looks like a Rambler:cool:

  17. How about a '35 Dodge? Would that count as a Mopar?

    Here goes
    I have a rebuilt 69 383 engine, .030 over bore, 15,000 miles with a rebuilt 727 trans (4,000 miles)
Wanting to trade for a low miles 318, 340, 360 engine with overdrive trans.
383 & trans are good. Just can no longer afford the gas. 12 mph on the highway....I love Mopar...They Love The Gas:cool:

I'd be guessing that you have your foot buried in the go pedal too often...:D
No reason for a mild 383 to be that poor unless you have 4.56 out back. The 'B' engines have plenty of torque so consider changing to a 3.23 or even a 2.94 if the curb weight isn't too high.
Cruise rpm should be around 2200-2500.

Here's some info on adapting an A518 (small block 727 based OD) to a big block. You may not want to go this route but it is an option.

  24. I would guess you're wrong about the foot being burried, unless your meaning I have a 3.23 rear end gear witt 27" tall tires & the 56 f100 weighing around 4,800 lbs.
