To be honest I would conduct your own test. If it fails to perform or just plain fails then swap it out, if not HAPPY DAYS!
Can't say I've used Zirgo but that line of companies makes me uneasy and I stay away from them.

This was posted by zman in another electric fan thread about relays and switches-

Do it with a relay like suggested. And keep an eye on the Zirgo. They're made by the Hoffman Group and neither put out the air that is claimed or seem to last worth a damn.

I have used probable 20-25 electric fans all after market and only had one failure and it was my fault, just lucky I guess
always use a relay on high amp items

My Zirgo lasted 4 years and 25,000 miles before is self destructed 1/2 way through Drag Week 2010. I replaced it on the road with an unknown to me brand. When this one goes away, I'll try a Spal.

  12. Don't need to post all the bad ones, just don't buy one! It's not needed!

A mechanical flex fan is your best choice. ;)

My Zirgo lasted about 40 miles and started making all kinds of noise.
My SPAL is the best fan I've ever used

  15. Search HOFFMAN GROUP, they pretty much knock off anything they can and have a VERY dubious track record. Zirgo is just one of their "brands".

everything that company makes is garbage. dont ever use their harness. cheapest pyle of **** you will ever buy. the bad part is they pride themselves on customer service, but they have no answer to why the kit is a pyle. zirgo, keep it clean, american shifter and some other brands are all the same company.

larry k has it right. Buy a Spal or nothing. They will flat out blow your hat off. They don't use Spals on Ferraris for nothing. I also wouldn't believe that Zirgos put out 3000 CFM. Thats BS.

  18. Ferraries.... Aren't those the cars you can't trust to go anywhere and cost about 10 grand in repairs every 15,000 miles?

I'd avoid anything made by The Hoffman Group.

When I needed a job badly I interviewed there. Told the interviewer about their bad reputation on the HAMB. Brought it up a 2nd time and the interview was ended.

Ferrari's probably need a lot of maintenance, I wouldn't know. I can't afford one and wouldn't want one even if I could. But I'll bet you one thing, the maintenance isn't due to the Spal fan. I've used them for years with no malfunctions.

Another vote for Spal. I like the fact that you can see their engineering drawings on line as well to ensure perfect fit in tight quarters. Have to be able to read Italian and convert metric on some of them but there are Apps for that.

Yeah flex fans - three radiators later and notorious for cracking at the hub. The absolute all time worse choice in my experience....

I learned a long time ago that when it comes to brakes, steering and cooling you buy the best and Spal is the best. There is also nothing more true then "you get what you pay for". When you buy the best you are never disappointed.

I'm not too thrilled about Speedway Motors fans either, after 3 weeks my truck started overheating and when I checked the fan I found the blade had fallen off. I guess those chinks can't tighten a nut.

Not sure what brand they use but I have a vintage AC/heat system in the roadster that works super. Been in there for over 12 years & 85000 miles & still going strong. If you want a electric fan that moves a lot of air check the amps it draws. More amps = bigger motor & more CFM

Zirgos **** rocks! Spal is not too far behind as far as I'm concerned. Set up properly with relays and the whole deal the Zirgo lasted about an hour in Phoenix's heat. The first Spal I got almost an entire summer out of, drawing nearly enough air through the core to somewhat cool the engine without the A/C running... Absolutely useful when it's 118! This was never a problem with the flex fan that proceded this nonsense, and I just wanted to free up some more horsepower with the electric garbage! The second Spal made it through Christmas that year and was the imputus to rip the entire front clip off the car and go to a bigger radiator, shroud and build in enough space for a proper seven blade Cadillac fan with a clutch. The car will sit with the A/C on in the heat of summer and run for hours with out going above 190 or so.

Long story short, You will NEVER find an electric fan on a vehicle coming from my shop with one exception... Vintage air sells a unit that IS an OEM Ford numbered part that was originally installed in Lincoln MK7 or 8s. ElPoloacko has used them with success on a few of his customer cars where there was no other choice. Just grab your ankles when it comes to pricing.
