Probably not that would survive. FWIW, both of my 671's (coupe & digger) are unstripped.

    No idea. But...

An empty teflon-coated pan left on the burner too long, does a fantastic job of killing your pet birds.

    Ask me how I know...

I think Squirrel might have some wisdom in this arena too.
As for a material, PTFE-teflon is slippery stuff, and reasonably inert.

There is a PTFE mechanical grade that is the least expensive and should hold up just fine.

I used to machine cooling turbine parts for the F-16 years ago and we used a self lubricating material called Rulon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rulon_(plastic) that was more durable than Teflon. The turbine operated under extreme heat and high rpms so the material should hold up on your application. The surfaces I machined made a bearing surface between two parts that opened and closed the inlet vanes controling air flow.

I don't have any first hand experience with this, but I remember talk of something other/better than Teflon being used. I think the issue may not be finding a better option that Teflon, but finding one that doesn't wear the housing.

  10. DON"T USE RULON AGAINST ALUMINUM !! They are not compatable.
