Event Coverage melt down in Ill

hey we are going to the melt down for the first time as a spectator. any recommendation as far as food and fun? Let me know how I can recognize you so I can say hi, me fat old bald guy in a hot rod t shirt

The burgers and ice cream at the track are great, and reasonable. We never bring food to Byron. The Blackhawk restaurant is about a 15 minute drive from track,right out of the track to stop sign, go over the river, go west following the river, youll see it. Great steaks.

 

...if you're talkin the Blackhawk restuarant on route 2, that's been gone for years, as they recently widened and re-did route 2 from Byron to Oregon.
...as said, great food at the strip, and plenty of good places in Byron like Sam's Drive-in, etc.....you WILL have a good time.

Has anyone yet invented a HAMB I D to hang around your neck---like
at a rock concert?? Or something similar??

I see lotsa guys at swaps and shows who I think might be a HAMBer,
but no way to tell just by looking.

I know not everyone wants to wear a certain T shirt or hat, or
whatever - and nobody can know everyone (except maybe Bob K).

(Just one of my off the wall thoughts....may or may not be worth 2 cents.)

 

Union bar and grill is pretty good if you want some Jamaican Jerk chicken. Fridays they have fried catfish. Also have crawfish and other food.

Also Tailgaters, Costas, Liambruni's, and if you want a greasy cheese burger from a drive-in, go to Sam's.

Three Sisters has good Coffee and food for the the morning.
