Figured it was time to put my new project up . I got the shoebox pretty much done and this 29 fell into my hands. I'm the fourth owner of this old farm truck, it was somebody else's project and I jumped on it for a great price. I have the original plates and ***le. Going to be full fendered with a slight chop to clean up the roof line. 55 Chevy 265 , 39 trans , 40 rearend, 36 dash, dropped and drilled axle. Hope to have the ch***is done by end of summer.

    Thanks for looking

Bad choice of truck to build. Let me know when and I will get ot off your property as to not be in the way. On a serious note thats a nice truck. I want to build one when I finish my recent project.

We just mocked the motor yesterday trying to build it like it is 1955 and I just bought one of those new Chevy motors to put in my hot rod

I think they look alot better when they are lowered but not chopped. Nice looking cab.

You know, I thought the same thing untill I saw a couple of them that had a couple of inches out of the windshield header, (not the posts) and then the same amount out of the doors. They look cool as hell like that, 'cause it kills the only awkward line on the thing, and it doesn't look "chopped". It leaves you guessing as to whay was done with it to clean it up. Check out the one that was in Hot Rod Deluxe a couple of issues ago built by Lance Sorchick to see what I'm talking about.

Go EASY on the Chop, too much can really screw them up. I'm keeping mine stock height, a friend chopped his "just the width of the W/S Header -Lance" that one turned out nice ... just noticed ref. to Lance's '29 ... that is chopped as stated above.

BINGO! That's what I did on mine. Just enough to get the top of the windshield gl*** to line-up visually with the top of the door gl***.

It makes the truck look like it was aesthetically planned, rather than built from left-over parts from the previous model.

Ya, A buddy of mine here in town owned Dave Gale's old "Canned Frog Legs" truck, and it took forever for me to figure out what was different about it. Just damn cool!

I am digging the cab out of storage soon. I'll take some more. Got robbed a while ago, and lost all of the digital ones. I am hoping that you can SEE it in-person soon. It is the one in my avatar. It is on the way to being off-the-hook, 60's showrod style.

Here is Lance Sorchick's that I mentioned earlier. Notice the difference in the side windows and where the sun visor is. I believe he did this by "sectioning" the header above the windshield, the cutting the doors and corners, and re-braking the upper cab panels. my buddie's old truck is the new owners avatar here on the H.A.M.B. from the Oregon area, but I can't place his screen name right now.
