Hot Rods Sometimes I whack it in my garage

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Dirtyest Devil, Jul 21, 2012.

  1. I'm really making an effort to get rid of stuff. I need to make a band room for my son. He loves drums and I have a ton of vintage equitment.

    2. I can never work in there comfortably.

    3. I also may move into my garage so I can hide better from my old lady. She is never happy. I'm exctatic!

    4. I was renctly trying to open another music venue/bar. I wasted a lot of funds and time trying to get it off the ground. Hence needing to sell things. I have some goddies too.

Also the reason for the whack on the 34. I have meant to build it and sell for two years now. I was busy raising boy. Now it's on!!! Bar is on hold while I search for the right space.

  2. Here is a pic of her car.
Kind of a artsy shot, in motion, slightly blurred.

  3. Yo Wingnutz!!! What are you asking cuz?

Sedan came out of Detroit. Lots of nice parts. I had to put the front half of an original floor in. Actually my pal did it, not me. I have a buddy I'm parters on this sedan with. He did floor. I did a small quarter patch with no bodywork. I also had another friend media blast it, and I primed her up about two years ago. Car is nice. Almost hated cutting it. Na... I loved it!

  4. Ive seen the car in person a few times. Love it.

It hasn't recently been re-chopped has it? I do miss a lot on here.

I'm come and go in spurts around here, usually after whacking something. Hehehe

    Gotta run all...

I'll post pics after I cut a little more out.

  5. I LIKE IT. No Fear. Looks like your well on your way. You gonna add to the roof or cut it across the cowl and lay back the whole windsheild area like I did on mine?

  6. I'm pretty sure they only whacked it once. :D

Maybe a little TOO much whacking?:p Get her a bob, that'll shut 'er up for a while...:D

  8. Usually anything from the Midwest is gone from the door handles down!

Now you had mentioned taking the pictures from a Roadster... would this Roadster happen to be a 34 as well? If so... can I see some photo's of it?

    Cheers my Jersey brother!

  9. Leaning the posts, relieving the cowl. Probably pull top of the A pillar a little forward too. I don't like when the front window gets that flat spot. I like a tear drop front window opening. Which gets harder the more you chop out!

I also like when the rear window is tear droppish as well. If you wedge chop them leaning forward, the back window seems to lose its natural shape and tends to get a very even window opening. Like a 30 sedan with an even amount of inches taken out. You get a square window.
I've kept the amount of inches removed the same all the way around to keep the same window opening. In the back anyway. Front will change drasticly.

I love the natural taper on the the 34 sedan. Makes the car. I also think they look more helmet like too when keeping the roof roundish and not giving the A pillar a straight lean.

Ahhh, too much talk. I'm just going to try and make it look good. I said try! Hahaha

You have a huge........... Ugghuumm nice chop man.

  11. Oh, yes! I was standing on my 34 roadster. I don't have any pics as I lost a lot of my files. I do have a thread somewhere about it. I'll try and find...

  12. I bought that book just for those pics when I had my 34 sedan. Never got around to chopping it though...

  13. That sometime tends to happen. I can remember a lot of 32's and 34's that have come and gone that I said I was going to cut.

A lot of people say, if your not going to keep it, then don't cut it. Well nobody was beating my door down to get this sweet 34 from me.

I wasted so much time lately not working trying to put a deal together on a bar, that I said F it. I want to chop it, so I'm chopping it!

So it's like I'm working again anyway. Work feels good. I'm aslo going to throw some cool parts at this thing to make one killer car. I think anyway.

Its one way to clean the garage.

Car looks sick Chris, mighty proud of you! Can't wait to get to mine. Someday!

  14. You know I have a thing for the Topless beauties but a coupe or sedan with a haircut or Whack job looks so bitchen!

Nice project! Is the '34 Roadster project on hold? Bob

  17. Yes Bob! I took off from working for 6 months so I could fix my house. I have yet to get back on the roadster since. I only started to strip some paint, and I got the frame up on the table.
I also had a lot of bugs to work out on my 39 Indian. I luckily met this 4th generation Indian Family that have helped me tremendously. I had a mish mosh of parts in my trans.

I'm just happy to have the roadster, that I don't mind being patient with it.

    Chop looks awesome Mel!

  20. Moved her out this morning. Not back to the chop yet, just pushed her out for a garage clean and reorganize.

    Wondering what you guys think.

Should I take another inch at least? Or go for 1 1/2 or 2?

I am building to sell. I'm not worried too much about someone not wanting it if it's too hard for some. Just wondering some opinions. Thanks!

  25. Thanks Pat.

When I chop yours I have a sweet plan. I've probably chopped 5 Model A sedans, but yours I'm going to try something different. Hope it works, hahahaa.

You, my friend, are a masterwhacker. Maybe just a little more off the top. Keep a whackin'.
