This is a really neat flake paint job. I know some guys here play the guit-fiddle and would like this mosrite. This is how im going to paint my bike and figure you guys would like to see some inspiration. Sorry i didn't post the pics. There were alot of them. http://www.myrareguitars.com/xxnokiebluebursthires.html It's a 60's style guitar with a real Kustom look, but done tastefully. -b
The Mosrite is a badass surf guitar. The Bigsby style vibrato and twangy pickups are really well suited for surf and even a little country if you're playing through, the right amp (which is a Fender with a SHITLOAD of reverb). I love the Gretsch sparkle jets too, covered with drum laminate. Very cool, especially the pearloid top
Actually these "new-Mosrites" are avalible in several flake colors... Looks cool, don't care for the flaked pickup covers & seetrough pickguard though... But I do like the idea of a set-neck Mosrite
Looks allright. How does it sound with the zero fret and steel nut? Sometimes guitars get "choked up" when you add too many layers of paint and clear. The pickguard is indeed painted, and it looks like the bolt on neck was just glued in, hope you can adjust the truss rod from under the pickguard still....???? Looks fun to play. Z
I love old mosrites and other 60's guitars. This post was more about the paint. It wasn;t desinged for the hot rod crowd like some new guitar shit. It just ended up having that 60's show car feel. I personally like my guitars preety raw sound wise. That contraticts my feeling visually though. My art degree really likes that mosrite, but musically i like an early 70's tele deluxe. -b
That guitar is sweet. I wonder If you can play slide on it or if the action is to low. I wuld like to play it through our 1960 JCM 2000. It would be sick.
