Did a day trip to Sydney on Saturday to see this years Motor Ex. This show is a mixture of hot rods, customs and street machines and includes the best of the countrys cars all vying to be win the top awards in their category. It is like the Ridler award of Australia for some entrants. This year had a new innovation with the introduction of the Cavalcade of Customs. This was initiated by some of the custom scene leaders like Mario Carillo and the special guest this year was John D'Agostino. There was a great lineup of finished and unfinished customs on display.I was invited to bring the Hudson but other committments prevented that(including finishing the 32 roadster) so only a flying one day trip could be done. A lot of the cars, especially in the Street Machine category aren't really HAMB friendly so my photos are limited to the customs and hot rods. The street machines, while beautifully executed belong on another forum. With one exception I have shown an incredible transformation of a Borgward Isabella station wagon into an incredible car.I believe that this car took 14 years to build!!!Maybe not everyones taste but still a credit to the builder. The pics will start with that car and then go onto more traditional customs and hot rods. Some of the pics are a bit blurry because of the intense lighting in the hall.
The bare metal shoebox with the sanding all in the same direction is Des Russels, hes on here as El Batidor Del Mono. Its ****ing unreal..
