Ok I’ve been driving by the COE for many years, the other day I decided to stop and take a few photos, it’s sitting atop this hill on a small piece of land that is for sale, it’s been kicking there for many, many years, I’m willing to bet that once the land is sold this awesome little COE will be sent to the crusher. The cab itself looks pretty solid, it does show some rust and a broken hinge on the driver’s side but all in all it looks to be all there. I think this would be an awesome project but I have nowhere to store it. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

I have no idea what year or make it is so it anyone know please post it on here. if there is any one out that that wants info on this COE, let me know and I’ll take a photo of the land for sale sign.

Whats really cool about these Internationals is that one door is suicide while the other door isn't.

good question. i wonder if it would allow underdash access when the cab is tilted?

Like all early COEs [pre 50s] the cab does not tilt! You pulled floor pans and stood on your head. BTDT

  8. Looks like one that I spotted in an oil field, in Castaic, behind the jail, about 20 years ago. There's a ton of wood in the cab

the suicide door then must be ease to get to these access panels to work on the engine?

  10. I'd save it. Ever seen another one? Ever seen one done as a rod? I haven't. I still kick myself for not trying to save a '30s era Mack COE that was in a yard here.

That probably helps but it just makes it easier to enter the cab,no climbing over the fender. Driver's door is front hinged so driver could open it and get his upper body out to see better backing up. Them old trucks only had a 5-6" round mirror on them ,try backing up in a tight spot with them, no wide angle spot mirrors then either.

  13. The pictures are jogging my memory, but I can't place it. Is that in an old town, near a dive bar, and the property is a bit above street level? Seems to me there was another old vehicle there next to it. I probably posted pictures on here. I'll have to search, later.

Somebody save it! If I were closer I'd go for it myself. That would be one sweet ride.

that is pretty darn close, is next to a dive bar, above street level but there's nothing next to it, it off of santa suzanna p*** in Simi Valley CA. i'll be driving by it again tomorrow and i'll stop and get the broker's number off of the sign and give them a call,
i know the HOA where i live would never let me park it on my drive way so i will post the info here in hopes that someone does save it!

  16. Found the post:
I was wrong about something next to it.

Yes, Santa Susana near Simi Valley, where I lived at the time.

That is if i cen work my way around that giant oak tree.

  22. Very interesting. I'd like to hear how it goes. Yeah, I remember that big oak tree. I was up that way to go hiking on the trail just off the freeway at the top of the grade.

LOL, I live at the bottom of the "grade" off of Stearns... Maybe some beers are in order one of these days Gilby, You might need a hand if you get the COE to your place :) Few days time, and your HOA wouldn't know it was the same truck ;)
