I just got a 57 dodge coronet 4 door and i need some ideas and pictures to make this thing realy cool. I was kinda thing maybe making it into a 2 door but i dont know how hard it would be?
How about this style that was posted on the Friday night art show a few weeks ago: Even though this is a 2 door hardtop and a 59 Dodge it is similar. The 57 Dodge has such beautiful lines that even in 4 door form it is a cool and unique ride.
This idea will take some time and cash, was just looking at a four door Merc that was made into a pick-up (El Camino, Rancharo) Looked good, I am thinking of doing one.

I like how people always have a smart *** comment to say when they were asking for advice /help..make it a 2dr slam it and tint the windows if thats what you wanna do and if people dont like it well too bad its your car!
If it's a Coronet Lancer (4 door hardtop), I wouldn't mess with the doors. But if it's a four door sedan, you can convert it into a 2 door post without changing the roof. Here's a couple 4 door Mopars I converted. A donor car is required. Younger people don't have the prejudice against 4 door cars we used to have. Besides a 4 door 57 Dodge is old enough to be cool. Keep it a 4 door if you can stand it, otherwise sell it and buy a 2 door. This is a lot easier and cheaper than trying to turn a 4 door into a 2 door.

Hey Steve1103, I have a 56 4door DeSoto that I want to do this with. I have be collecting pictures for of them for some time now. What car do you have that you were thinking of build a pickupElrancho from?? If you would like I could send you some of what I have. The picture is of a photoshoped desoto someone posted for me.
the worst thing you could do is stick a sbc in it, im cool with four doors, kinda hard to cover it up just use the doors maybe shave the rear handles and put poppers on em so the whole family can enjoy it.
