Event Coverage dragway 42

Plan on going to dragway 42 rock and race event, in july 2012 .....
who's going......has it been a good way to spend a weekend...

I haven't been there in a few years. I've heard it has gotten more regular car show, than traditional drag race. But like I said, haven't seen it for myself. This was a cool event when I went.

 

We've went for the last 3-4 years. Used to be a pretty great show then everyone just stopped coming, it seems. Last year it was kind of dead. Not as many cars as there used to be. We went on early Friday and Saturday afternoon. Good races and all. Just not as much going on. Probably won't go this year.

 

We are having a 4 car AA/GS match race Sat and Sun. The 33 Willys Finders Keepers and Phenomenon, 56 Chevy Blew By You, and my Warlock Austin. Supposed to run at 3&7 sat and 2&4 on Sunday. Come on out and see us.

 

I'll be there in the 51B roadster. Just look for the slowest car on the track.

 

I saw that car... Loved it... Nope, wasnt the slowest either.

No ours was the slowest on the track Nick and edsel! Ha.
We had fun lining both pickup and coupe flatties up and racing. It gave the people in the stands an opportunity to take alittle nap before we reached the finish line. No pics either. Darn it.

 

Been to this show in the past, was a pretty good time. Anyone have any pics???

 

I was glad i was able to make it Friday and saturday but had to leave early sat. Racing was cool lots of cool cars and the pits were filled up! Got to see the fuel cars run friday night and it was awesome! Wish i could have stuck around to see the blown Gas and fuel cars run again. had a great time regardless

 

Was it a bigger turnout than last year?

 

The pits were full of race cars.Hundred or so.
Show cars on Saturday numbered 40-50.
Never made it last year but I got my moneys worth watching gassers, nitro cars and bracket cars run all day after the rain.
