i certainly dont need any more vehicles and would most def have to sell something if i take it. i dont have any pics but does $4k sound like a fair deal for the following:
    - 64 galaxie 500 xl with factory 390 and auto trans
    - nice older tq thrust 2 rims and ires
    - stainless exhaust pro installed
    - new brake lines, master etc, 13 in rotors in front
    - sadly the car was in a hail stom and has hail damage. i can live with it as-is but to ever resell and make cash it would have to be addressed. id want to anyway but i would be fine for now.
    - needs some basic upkeep and simple items like rear window cranks, a new seat cover for the bench, pow steering adjusted.

something is telling me to go get this and consider selling the c10 i just finished up. the c10 is a simple driver truck noth9ing fancy. i truly like it but i know id use the alaxie more simply cos i can put the fam in it. there is literally no rot or rust on the car.

he had it for sale at 5k last year and no sale. maybe i am missing something. ***ume it needs extensive hail daage and repaint but even then it would still be under 10k total i would think?

am i just nuts? i love the look of the car - just need to make a sound decision if i am to give up the c10.

    any thoughts?

If its as nice as you say it is go for it. As for the hail seek out a good PDR guy to get out as much hail damage as he can. Some of those guys are amazing!!! I wwnt to a training program where the guy showed up in a rental car with his tools and suitcase. He beat the **** out of the car and thats what he taught on!!

Sounds like a good deal to me. I love the 64 Galaxies,I think they are the best looking 60s era Ford they made. You might save some money and work by replacing the hood and trunk and putting a vinyl top on it.That way you only have to get dents out of the fenders and doors.

well made the decision after driving the galaxie on wed. i bought it. had to immediately post the c10 up for sale which is gnawing at me. but i simply cant keep everything that i stumble across. so while the 48 chevy gets built over the fall/winter, i'll have a car i can use with the fam and get to more car shows and such. pretty excited - minus the whole getting rid of a 4 speed truck i busted my *** on. just hoping i made the right decision. get to spend the weekend cleaning out the garage and making room for a big *** car.

she gets delivered today so ill post pics later on. thanks for the insight all.

You can't go past a 64 XL 500 Gal - they are defintely the best looking 60's Ford Fullsize.
The suggestion about trying PDR to remove the dents is a great one.
My everday O/T ute was hammered by heavy hail a couple of years ago - I was expecting it to be written off, like so many other cars were.
Every dent was noodled out by an absolute craftsman who did an awesome job - it's a black car and no one can tell there was ever any damage - unbelieveable, but true.
I've got a 64 500 XL Convertible and love driving it as often as possible.
I'm sure you'll enjoy yours too.
    Good one.

Be advised these 'PDR' guys have restrictions. My son has a '65 Galaxie 2 dr hardtop that had a '40 Ford torque tube fall onto the front fender, from a leaning position on the wall.
He had a 'Dent Pro' guy come out, the dent 'pro' said no way..."That metal's way too thick!"
That trade is for new Orient rides and Keystone cans. Just a 'word to the wise'....
