I posted in the wanted section bout needing a hood for a 65 c10' and have got 3 responses from 3 different guys from the uk? The hoods all look super good and they don't won't that much for the hoods? Seems alittle fishy to me what do y'all think?

  2. Scam! These clown are on the HAMB now - tag the responses and send them to Ryan. He will perform a turdectomy.

I would not do it. I've bought motorcycle parts from a legit dealer in the UK and between shipping and customs the cost is substantial! You don't know if you're dealing with someone who is honest. I would p***. If it seems like it's too good to be true, it usually is. My .02 cents. Bob

Why would you want to buy one from the UK anyway? That's an american truck and there must be over a thousand available in junkyards here in the states and the shipping is way cheaper. It's just a big scam...

Cause I am a ****er for a good deal! But when it sounds to good to be true it usually is.

JB Salvage in Bloomington, they set the older car/truck that come in off to the side before crushing them

They are not in the UK and they only survive because people either want something for nothing or sell something for way more than it's worth.
Buy local....you know it makes sense.:D

That bunch of scammers watch the wanted section like a bunch of vultures.

As Hotrod40 coupe said, it shouldn't take to much hunting to find a good hood for that truck. You might even check Craigslist in the areas within 100 miles or so and make a hood and burger run to get one.

Think about this. How many Chevy pickups have you seen from England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, or the Channel islands? My guess... none. So how many hoods do you think might be available in the UK?

If you were local to me, come over and we'd have 3 of them in an hour. Astounds me why someone would have one shipped 3000 miles or more to save a "few" bucks.

You can't trust those fake Limeys purporting to have the parts you want in the U.K.. Whatever next? They'll be claiming they are hosting the Olympic Games in the U.K. or some such ****....

Everything is by default twice as expensive over here as someone had to pay to ship it in, in the first place.

You'll find that the scammers claiming to be from the UK are in Nigeria....it's a national pastime over there.I recently got offered some 32 parts on the back of an ad I ran....he said he was from the USA and he had a genie grille, hood and rear fenders ,all for 750 dollars....I asked for pictures of the car he was parting out, and he sent me a picture of a wrecked late forties sedan.....not a very bright fella.

How good a deal could it be once you add on shipping

  26. Ask yourself this, why would I ship a hood for a common american pickup from overseas?
