was thinking about selling my coupe but i dont know what to ask for it. I have done alot of work to it but it needs alot done yet. the coupe has been choped 4 inches have welded all patch panels on it and startet to channel it 4 inches over the frame. also built new steel tubing b pillers, recessed licence plate, spider web bumpers, lighting holes in the bottom back body brace, trunk floor tube frame work. some of the things it still needs done are finish channel job, line up cowel with the reast of body, sand blasted or acid dipped.
Are you selling just the body, or does the frame and other **** come with it? If it's just the body, I bet you'd get at least 2K for it, maybe more. It looks like a real nice one.
i gotta agree with Squid its sweet would take me over 2K to get my 500 buck Dodge coupes body this nice .....
I havent decided if i want to sell the hole thing also have 10 bolt posi and model a grill shell. Or just the body, doors and trunklid. I just dont have a clue what to ask for it as there still is alot to do but i have done alot of cool stuff to it to. thanks bret
Nope from Holland home of tulips and blue haird old ladys. I bought it from a guy in kentuky. did all the work myself.
With a good frame, a rearend under it, a grille shell on it, and maybe some kind of front axle underneath, it could bring $3500, hard to say without seeing it in person. There are a lot of cheaper Model A projects out there, but this one looks pretty nice, and A coupes seem to be in super high demand right now. MF, you saw that Model A sedan I had at my place when you were here getting that other body. It was on a frame, OK body but with **** fenders and lots of surface rust? That one sold for $900 with a '46 front axle and a 10 bolt sitting under it. Yours is a coupe and is a lot farther than mine was. Why sell it?
Nice work. One way to figure out what it's worth is to consider your purchase price, plus patch panels plus time and other materials. If you don't have to sell it, then you sure don't want to lose money on it,though it's hard to recover "sweat equity" on any project. Another thought would be to check out 'glas body manufacturer's web sites and see what you'd have to shell out to get the same thing in fiberglas that you have in steel. Lots of those guys are asking a lot more than 2K, but again you might have to figure out what you need, not just what you'd like. Let us know how this goes.
Ahh. I looked at a car similar to that in SL about 2 years ago. Funny, after the dude and I struck up a price, I went to get the cash and the car and him were GONE!!!! Haven't seen it since! Jay
I just have to many projects and none of them are done. I have all my money tyed up in stuff to much stuff. I bought that four door from you and i had to decide to sell one of them. bret
Amen. But I did learn to KEEP CASH IN HAND when dealing with iron purchases. Also, don't bring the wife. Good luck selling yours! Or, if you want to trade for Disco era Mopars, I'm your man. Jay
It's worth $500.00, and I'll have it picked up tomarrow ....seriously, all of the responses so far are right-on, don't let US tell you what it's worth....YOU decide, if you really are serious about selling it, put on the HAMB cl***ifieds, and see what happens. I do have to tell ya that they are never worth what you think they are when they are not 'turn-key' HotRods, fewer and fewer people want a project anymore, when they can find 'finished/running' cars for reasonable prices now-a-days. Be realistic, and it will sell. Good Luck with your decision.
