So it's coming together. This is another mockup to show the progress at the hot rod-a-rama.

It's a blown alky 425 with billet rods and forged billet pistons. Roller cam/ solid roller lifters, internally balanced, 6-71 blown, hilborn injected.

This of course is the most basic of descriptions.

Anyhow I am looking to name it and I am open to suggestions.

    Beautiful.

It's always cool to see a HAMBer driving a NAILhead. (I have been accused of being korny before.)

for a name I like "Stripes", "American Stripper", "Try to burn this one" (a little long I know, but cool none-the-less) or something else patriotic like Salute, Anthem, Wild America, the only strictly american wildcat I can think of is a Bobcat. I don't know--food for thought. You know the car. You'll know the right name when it comes up.

No suggestions, but you've got to do better than the Peashooter, which is what a few folks called that car when it was powered by a nitro-burning big block Chevy. Looks great with a nailhead!

Man, you guys have some great ideas for names. Maybe I will have to take my favorites and post a poll or something.

Just to answer a few questions:
It is heavy metalflake but it's hard to see in the pics.
The motor in it now is just a block with a cobbled manifold. The real motor is nearing completion with just the valves and head studs to show up.

We should be running deep in the 7's with a very high possibility of 6's witht he right tune.
I don't care if we are running 8's or 9's this fall as long as were running. There is a year of R&D in this motor already. I'm getting anxious but I dare not get in a hurry.

We hope to run the car in Vegas at the Rockabilly Rod reunion. We will run for sure at the Reunion in Bakersfield.

    WOW,
That things bad, you guys "NAILED IT", If I had a picture of it I would "NAIL IT" to my wall. If it were mine I would call it "NAILHEAD FED"(FED bein my nickname and all).I once lost a "NAIL" pounding a "NAIL". "NAIL" also rymes with "RAIL".oooh it's a "NAILRAIL" , If it were a train it could be the "NAILROAD".MADMAX would of called it the "ROADNAILER".In a horror movie it would be "COUNT NAILULA" or "NAILENSTIEN". Being that it's red white and blue like the post office you also could be the "NAILMAN".All kidding aside it's one "GREAT NAIL".
