I've got a Supersonic Six and a 4Cyl from a couple of Henry Js, with trannies. I've never heard them run, but they aren't locked up. Are they worth trying to sell, or should I s**** ém?
dont s**** them! china has enough of our flat heads and early iron. hell, if the blocks are bad could always turn them into cool art or a coffee table.
I have been given a Y-block, a 56 Chevrolet 265 and a 51 216 that were "junk" and were going to be s****ped. Y-block was full of rodent nests, 265 was locked up tight and the 216 had a 8" long crack in the block. these motors were all about 80-90 percent complete. I parted them out on ebay and made at least $500.00, gave away what wouldn't sell and s****ped very little. I never throw old car parts away without an effort to sell, or give them away. Craigslist is free, so is the HAMB cl***ifieds. found a guy who wanted the 265 block right here on the HAMB. delivered it to him at Billetproof.
Sadly not very many years ago you couldn't give away some engines even though today they are "magic", like the 2, not 1 but 2, 348s, one a factory tripower, a friend once had which went to the s**** because no one he knew would come get them for free.
Post it here http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=251147 and see if anybody wants it before you s**** them!
It might take some time to find the few guys in the USA that would love to have these. I had a hard time giving away a 56 Ford 223. It took a few months but finally someone came and took it out of my way. You may be able to get some money for it for s**** but don't ever complain if you can't find an odd part. Somebody needs them. It's up to you to find him.
