Most of all build what you want, do what you want, it's your car. My uncle has always said, "If you like it, I love it." Meaning doesn't matter if he likes it or not, because it isn't his car.

  6. You can barely make it out. Look just below where the left side of the steering wheel hoop meets the lower portion of the windshield frame.

These cars were air cooled and the aluminum body was a dead giveaway.

Most Franklins had aluminum bodies, that one in the OP may be an Es***. Bob

Rear window is much too large to be a Franklin, too.

Drip rail on the OP car is not as arched as the drip rail on the '29 T.

The '24 Franklin had a substantially larger rear window, four-door suicides, and a less arched drip rail... Maybe? I'm going to venture a guess of '24 Franklin.

Roger that... back to the drawing board.
I'm still thinking it's closer to the MID 20s than it is the late 20s, mostly because that rear window seemed to be a lot larger in the mids than it was toward the late 20s. Seemed to be for most makes/models.

That body is a mid/late-20s Hudson. The Es*** bodies were steel structured before the Hudson ones but Es*** did not use aluminum, that was Hudson. The Hudson is a slightly larger car than the Es***, its little brother.

interesting...i have '30 es*** here ,its got piano hinges. My guess would be a coachbuilt model of Hudson...mid 20s. Have you had a look round on carnut.com? loads of pics there

  29. I had just a cowl of a '28 Es*** a while back and it looked just like that from what I remember and even still had the ES*** plate on the firewall.
