Well I finally painted my 32 ch***is today...3 month after shooting the primer. I dont like painting as I am not set up for it and I dont know what I am doing! That being said, I am pleased with how it came out. Now I am anxious to put it all back together again...just like Humpty Dumpty!
Wait, you mean people actually paint cars and parts INSIDE, in a PAINT BOOTH?????? Who knew !!!!!! Your frame looks great, I would be proud of it. Don
In high school one of my mom's friends would paint HIGH end cars in his driveway and they looked AMAZING! He'd get everything prepped and start painting at like 1am after the wind and bugs died down. Looks good!
I paint outside as much as possible. There is some bad stuff you might inhale in a garage while painting. If you don't have a paint booth then you need a respirator.
Here in AZ we use Mother Natures sandblasting service. Monsoon winds and desert dirt will strip paint in minutes
WAAAYYY BACK! in high school days I painted a friends 58 Chevy in his dads driveway at night using whatever we could find for light. I did the spraying while the car owner & 3 others used tweezers to pick bugs from the paint as best they could. With a final coat of pure laquer thinner it flowed out fairly nice...if I do say so myself. When another guy did the stripe work he wrote "Paint by FLY" on the trunk. There's a joker in every crowd, i guess. Cadillac Al
I blocked, prepped, primed and re-blocked my roadster in the driveway but just couldn't pull the trigger (literaly) after spending $600.00 for materials, so I towed it to a friends paint booth and he shot two coats of color and three clear. I painted my last car in the driveway in 1985, but it only cost about $100.00 in material. Turned out really good too. Anyway, the ch***is looks very nice. Well done.
I'd be excited if it were mine! Looks like it's going to be super low judging from the spring notch in the front.
Looks good!. And I wish the gr*** around here was as green...... Even in the booth you need a respirator! The VOC's and other nasty **** in the paint don't just magically disappear simply because you're inside the booth.
