Mopar 413 engine paint color

    Need info on engine color for my 1964 Dodge Custom 880. 413 police motor. Mine is all grey with red valve covers and I don't think that's right.
     
  2. red or torquoise red was the small block color dodge used pre 68 and torquise was used on all big blocks from 65 till 68 then on non high po big blocks till 69 and orange on high -pos from 68on

    Torquoise is the correct color.

    if i remember correctly, only the 1964 motors in standard street trim were turquoise, otherwise they were orange. what year is the block dated to?

    I had I believe a 61 chrysler 413 and it was gold if I remember right. Yeah, I know his is a 64. Lippy
     
  7. The 413 in my 63 New Yorker was Turquoise. Love the big block mopars!

    My 65 Imperial 413 was turqouise
     
  9. turqouse on all big blocks except the golden lion 413 in some chryslers. and the max-wedge motors.

    My buddy has a 413 in his 64 880 custom wagon. Looks turquoise to me. He is having a tough time proving the car was originally a 413 (supposedly not a regular factory option?).
