Aug.5 1962 I was 17 years old. It was a Sunday morning and we were on our way to Quaker City Drag Strip in Salem Ohio when we heard on the radio that Marilyn Monroe was found dead in her home. It is one of those moments in life that I have never forgotten.
We were on vacation in Montana, headed for Yellowstone when we heard about it on the radio. Probably the only reason I remember or even knew what all the fuss was, was because of my Mother's reaction! I was a little too young to lust after Marilyn at the time. ~Alden
