Bad idea IMO, will kill the car if you want to sell it down the road.

  4. HAHAH...no imaginationators or visionaries at all eh? Buncha pussies!!

What about Squeak Bell's roadster? I read an article on it years ago...donno if he still owns it.

Far as I can remember, doors were welded shut by a previous owner and then cut down to give it a "euro" type styling. Then Squeak, or somebody (can't remember from the article) made filler panels for the "euro" cutouts. I don't think they're welded in....didn't want to totally change the original owners vision.

  5. Do not dare to stray from the straight and narrow or you will be condemned and told it is fibreglass street rod crap cause god knows no hot rodder ever did that type of thing, how insane....... can you hear that? It is the sirens of the Insane asylum mobile coming to place you in a stray jacket so they can take you away peacefully. They will perform a frontal lobotomy so you don't dare stray again and you can be like all the other sheep and paint by numbers. 1800 STREET ROD.

    THE END

I noticed three or four of us have been providing historical pictures of cars from the forties, fifties, and sixties, yet it's still "Street Roddy"... HHHMMMMNNNNN.

  8. I think they have all been brain washed. Luckily I wear my Aluminium Foil hat so they can't use their mind control on me :D:D:D;);)

  10. Thanks to all who posted pics. In retrospect, I think it would be a fail. IT's going to be a driver. Thats the goal. I've pulled me head out of my ass. But what the hell. Keep the opinions coming.

  11. I really like Hudson Joe`s A...but if it was mine..I don`t think I would have filled the tank to cowl panel section...I like that seam because it echoes the lines and flow on the top of the tank. Just my preference....

I recently did a google search on hidden hinges, and several HAMB threads came up, ALL of them saying "hidden hinges are street rod" "hidden hinges are not traditional" Bla, bla, bla, on and on. So I went and dug out my 1948, Yes, 1948 Hot Rod with Bob Mcgees car, wow, hey, wadda ya know, hidden hinges. IN 1948. Whole LOTTA BS on here...

That car went on to become the Logo for the LA Roadster Club, ran Bonneville and the Dry Lakes, are you really sure it is traditional? Bob

    I would not do that

  20. Don't do it. If that's the look you want build a T-bucket. Flush fit the doors but don't weld em shut!!![/QUOTE]

I absolutely agree with you. Don't weld something up that's working. I also have to agree with the T-bucket comment. Although, now they have T-buckets with doors that open. HEE HEE--- ALSO, STEEL IS REAL, DUDE!

Wheres all the "build it your way" crowd?? Oh yea, thats reserved for "traditional" stuff, like rust, fake patina, red smoothies with WWW radials, Olds valve covers on SBC's, and faux spindle-mounts...:rolleyes:

Here Jimmy B, allow me be #4, probably the best known of them all. Another ugly-ass car with the doors welded shut. How GAUCHE! Good enough for AMBR 1955, but not good enough for the HAMB. Not that I'm doubting the HAMBs credibility...:p

Sucks to jump over the top.

Depends on the car and style.

If the doors work why destroy them.

    strengthens car, for racing applications.

My choice would be to weld passanger side and install a brace on the drivers side.
