My wife brought me home a cool Hot Rod book from Old Navy. It has many references to Hop Up - the old and new one, There is a direct Thank You to Mort in the back.
It has Weesner stuff, shows old decals, tons of Roth's cars in show format, Barris, old JC Penny pages, tons of cool pics. It is very cool and has some cool info. I like the replacement hub cap page - you can identify many old hub caps you may have laying about. I was just suprised it was in OLD NAVY - woof. Have any of you all seen this or worked on it??

  2. OLD NAVY? Im gonna have to take the wife "shopping" tonight

Yeah, I don't know if its "The" one but this one is called - Icon
That's right - Coco is the Author - I don't have it handy. It is really cool. I thought is was going to **** because she got it from Old Navy. I was wrong. It only has the ON logo on the cover in one small place on the cover, so that's cool. I still read it in my new shorts though.

Just got back from picking one up. I've paid five times that for not nearly as good. Great pics. Icons is a good ***le. Most of them are in there.

    Thanks for the tip.

    Gabe,

Yep, 'bout an hour ago. Sticker is $7.50 but they only charged me $5.25. Worth picking up for sure. Look on the end caps by the registers for them.

Yep, I just walked in from work and the wife said "Check you computer desk". Cool book, "Hotrods & Custom Cars" and she said that she saw the "Chrisman coupe" on the cover and wanted to get it for me. She said that they are on sale for five bucks. Very neat book........

I'll be boycotting Old Navy until they put "our" trucks back on the road where they belong!:D Just kidding. It does annoy me a bit, though.

(Do you know that most Old Navy customers think that those AD trucks that are in all of their stores are all fake? All of my friends, anyway.)

First thing I do when the ol' lady wants to go to Old Navy is check out the old chevy truck. I'm curious how of many trucks they have total. I've been to at least 4 different stores in the MD area and they all have one. Anyway thanks for the heads up. i'll be going back there to find the Icons mag.

Got my book last night. Really cool and worth the $7.50. But....the wife also picked up a few things for herself and Frankie. Like over $100! Doh! I guess that's what I get for sending her to Old Navy!

Not that it's newsworthy, but I just got back from a long lunch picking up the book at Old Navy. I'd been looking for a while. This topic was on the HAMB early this summer or so. The book is reviewed in depth in the latest Rodders Journal too. Beautiful stuff. I picked up the "Tiki Style" book as well. There are a couple others like "50s Advertising" and "60s Advertisting" which are cool too, but I p***ed.

They still have them, I picked up a couple last night at Old Navy. You may have to dig for them they are near the front register area. Oh yea, don't ask for help looking for the book. You will get a blank stare from the people that work there.

  25. Ran into our Old Navy yesterday. Could not find the book and when I asked the clerk I got the most cl***ic I don't know our care look you have ever seen.

And yup, there is an old Chevy pickup on disply. One of the furnature stores here also has a restored early 50s Chevy pickup inside and up front where you can see it from the highway.

Just got my copy. They had plenty of copies at the Racine WI Old Navy. Looks cool at first glance. Gonna go through it at work (2nd shift) in a little bit.
