Well yesterday was a scorcher, but that didn't stop the Rebel Riot from being a resounding success from my point of view. I worked pretty much every night last week making sure that the Buick would make it, and we drove it down at 11 AM, the morning of. Other than a trip down the steet for a dinner, the little lady, the Buick and I stayed all day. Lots of cars, a pin-up/vintage-swim-suit contest (my gal was number 9), and bands and burlesque in the evening. Well, I'll just shut up now and show you the pics I took...
...that's it. No, I didn't take any pics of the Burlesque show. Use your imagination, just not with my girl (the one that the Buick is trying to push-start). I know some other HAMB'ers were there. Post your pics too!
That supercharged, chrome reverse, white tuck and roll, metallic blue beauty may be one of the most absolute perfect Hot Rods EVER!!!!!
Thanks, I'm glad it was on a Saturday, cause if it were today, I wouldn't have made it! You win some, you loose some I guess. I'm no supporter of the name of the gig either. But, I'll live with it since I'm glad to have a decent event in town since Hot-Rod-o-Rama packed up a few years back. That was definately, far and away, my pick for people's choice. The Red '35 Ford Coupe took that prize though. Best in show went to a '59 Caddy Coupe, which I didn't get a pic of since it was just a stock '59 Caddy. It was nice, but there didn't seem to be anything 'custom' or 'hot-rod' about it. Not that I'm trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes about my Buick... Dammit, I have to get to work on that!
Sorry, We got there late, had a few beers.... Looked at some rides, then off to dinner !! Congrats on your show !
Thanks. The car I think you are refering to is a 1938 Ford of Australia Ute. Pretty cool to see on 'round these parts if you ask me.
