  2. Hey Crew,

Big thanks to Ben for putting on this BBQ, it was awesome. Lots of fun and really nice to meet some new rodders and some cool HAMB guys.

    To the pics...

Top Left: Thats hosts roadster pickup in the driveway. For those who've been following LowSquires build, you'll notice the new headers and exhaust. As cool as the zoomies were, not so practical from a police point of view. Plus he got sick of the girls calling it an octapus motor. How they manage to open thier mouths and make the toughest symbol of automotive performance something b**** and childish I'll never know...

Top Right: thats my heap of junk parked next to a really nice chev sled. I've liked this ride for ages and it was the only custom at the bbq. Something about those body lines on an early chev just flow so well. My fav pic of the night.

Second Left: thats AdamF's 28 roadster. Early flatmotor powered its a really nice ride and always gathers a crowd around it where ever it stops. Adam saved my *** on the way out with my multiple flat battery issues.

Third Left: Thats DevilRods's sano 28 roadster in the forground. Devil is a great guy and his car has it in spades. Everything is proportioned beautifully and it finished just right. The colour choice is killer too. I'm going to steal his roof over summer to use as a pattern for my ride.

The deuce coup in the back ground belongs to Who Daky aka Geoff. Nicest guy ever and he even striped my deck lid! Had a good chat with him about striping, sat in his coup and chewed his ear off more then I should have. One of roddings genuine Nice Guys.

Third Right: The htings you find lurking in the shadows...

Fourth Left: err im not narcististic.. i was really only taking pics of the chev..my ride just kept getting in the way...

Bottom Left: Nice group pic before the sun went down and the temp dropped to 0 degrees celcius. You can make out the tail end of an early mazda to the left of the pic. Not HAMB material but a ****ing insane 302 Windsor powered mazda 4 door is ok in my book! Owned by a real cool older guy whos owned some really nice trad rides in the past.

  3. Here's some more. Check out Who Daky striping the decklid on my roadster. I coudlnt have asked for a better job! I really dig the cheeky looking face built into the design... its amazing to see how much some curved lines can change the character of a car!

Yeah a good low key time was had by all. Ben your new big shed is neat but the old farm sheds are way cooler.
Dan was a pleasure meeting you as it was all the other guys and gals I hadn't met before. It was neat to stripe your hot rod and I really like it with the black wheels.
I only took a couple of shots and have attached only one, that being of Corey's roadster with it's proposed new wheel and tire combo. I say it looks way better than the red steelies and I also say DON'T PAINT THAT FIREWALL!!.
It was an early finish to a good night a****st great people and to top it off was the cruise half way home behind Devilrod.
Whoops nealry forgot, I wasn't the only one striping that evening. Peter aka Striper was also laying down some lines for the devilrod man. The world can never have enough stripers!
Take it easy Geoff aka Whodaky

Guys, I really wanted to come down and attend the BBQ and meet you all and catch up with Geoff, but alas it wasn't to be. Maybe next time. I did manage to go to Sydney and attend the All Ford Day swap and car show last weekend. My eldest son nad I were going to tinning today, but it didn't come off. Next weekend for sure. GREAT pictures. Thanks.

As I couldn't make the trip south for this event, the Canberra HAMBers held a bbq as well. This too was a quiet laid back evening. Here's a shot of all who attended....

  14. What can I say, Ben thanks for putting up with us Easty bogans :). Was a great arvo/night. Met some great guys, talked ****, had a coupla cold ones and gave the roadster a good run. Pete I can't thank you enough for the striping job you did. It was great watching Striper and Whodaky in action.
What was a bigger bonus was actually meeting the guy responsible for the initial construction of my roadster. And as Geoff said it was topped off by a good cruise home!

Thanks for a very COOL arvo Ben. Good to meet you guys (that I haven't met)

Thanks for the tips too Whodaky. (He's been striping a long time and had some cool ideas).

Nobody has mentioned the view or the fireworks that Ben put on for us. Impressive.

    Hey danny,

did you get home ok? any go on the battery deal??

Whodaky, dont worry, the firewall will be red for quite some time, as I'm too lazy to do work on my own car, I just never seem to get the time.

ben thanks for a great night, hit the jackpot with the weather for middle of winter in melbourne, look at the photos guys, it was a beauty for roadster weather, and as usual I was the only one stupid enough not to have a roof, oh dan didnt either, so that makes two of us!

hell, I cant wait for the good weather to get here, but then I look at the ride and see a few things I want to do, and think , if the weather picks up soon, well they wont happen until next winter.

all in all it finished off a great day, spent the majority of the day wrenching on shanes A ch***is and then talked hotrods/******** for the evening, what more could you want.

    we must organise these regularly!!!

  21. hey corey!

yeah man got home fine, started fine. will give you a ride whenever you get a night off and you can give me your expert advice. actually the ride home was the best piece of my whole weekend, cool air (makes my ride go faster) good company with zach, no cops, no red lights, no rain... was killer.

man i still think cream firewall would have been killer but i think if you did a red pinstripe on the rims that would make a whole lot of difference...tie the two together nicely.

    any more pics guys?
