I cant for the life of me figure out how these friggin bumb retention clips go into my unity fog light housings. I took them apart a couple years ago so I know they will work, just cant remember how to orient the clips inside. I don't have pictures of my actual lights but here's what I'm working with.

The open ends go into the outer edge of the rim. The offset in the middle goes on the bulb. Wear safety gl***es as them $^*( springs love to bite.

I just cant seem to find a position that will cause them to lock in. I wish I could see a picture.

Looking at the clips, it looks easy :)

The center of the clip has a dropped area. The top of that center U should lay against the top of the lip on the back of the sealed beam. Then the rest of the center part sits lower than the lip on the sealed beam. Hard to find the right words.

If you or a friend has ever replaced sealed beams in a pre-67 VW bug, it would help.

I'll see if I can take a photo of my Unitys with my lousy phone camera and post it later today.

Thank you! It seems like my clips have a little different shape to them. I'll take some pictures this weekend.

Are you guys using a rubber seal between the bulb and front trim ring? If so, where are you finding that?

An extra set of hands to hold the bulb to the ring helps. I never seen any kind of gasket used in them. Also suggest that you do this in as small of room that you have. So when the ()*&^%&^#$#$@# clips go flying they are easier to find. I have some enroute to CANADA. USE SAFETY GL***ES

I realize this is an old thread, but have a nice light that is missing the clips that are spoke of in this thread. Is there anywhere these clips can be bought? THe link that jcmarz posted is dead.

I got my replacement clips from Oriellys

Edit: It was actually Napa. Balkamp part number 730-9520. Bought online through them and shipped to my door for cheap.
