I built a 1938 Ford 10 rod, a few years ago, and have a pic (wont load up) taken from a 1938 New Zealand newspaper advert of the new "FORD 10".. It had the Ford "pop" front body panels with a three hole grille, on the four door (prefect) body.
Hope this coppies, Here is my 1938 Ford 10.. It was New Zealand new, I couldnt find the three hole grille (which is shown in the 1938 advert I have) so I had to use a Ford pop grille..
Hi LIFESTYLES. The 1938 Ford 10 guards / body / bonnet mount area, are the same as the Pop, but is a different shape to the later prefect guard / body area, the prefect E93A model(headlight mounted in the front of guard) guards were more boxier at the back..
Mine is a E93A that is being converted to a Panel van. Thought a gl*** pop front might fit witout too much h***le.
There is a genuine 2 door convertible Anglia owned by a gentleman in Mt Eden Auckland too that I used to see regularly. They must be scarce as rocking horse **** anywhere in the world.
A few years ago Grant? So is that your son by the car then? Clive, there were E93As with Pop fronts drag racing in the US in the 60s so it must be do-able
True Toddy. I looked at the gl*** Pop fronts that were at the Tauranga Swapmeet. Looked like they would work and were only about $800.
Todd you're right, it was quite a few years, I had just joined the SCRCC, thats why I look so young. .Here is a pic of the origional Prefect body I started with (had too much rust, and a workmate wanted the 38 body out of his shed). Could be, with a slight bit of body work it would fit..
I think the company that you are talking about from New Zealand is Wizzart. They are no longer in business (can't find them on the web). I purchased a half scale Fiat Topolino body that originally came from them. I actually got mine from the owner of Rod n Race Fibergl*** in MD. I tried to contact him as well, but received no response. There is a website for Rod n Race...now changed to Scottrods. http://www.rodnrace.com/
LOL..I also purchased a 1/2 scale Fiat..so thats 2 they sold!...LOL Rick =================================================
Mine was the original buck sent from overseas. The photo is of how it looks now. I'd love to see what you did with yours as well. Did you get it from Wizzart or from Rod n Race?
Those are UTES, he was asking specifically about Pick Ups (bed and cab not attached), not utes. I think the Utes were OZ and NZ only Uh, that's a FIAT, the thread is about Anglias ?????
i got a nos grill -like in pic #26 /need a shell anybody got one ? or a ute truck builer for sale ??????? want one bad !!!!!thanks mike carryallman wahl norwalk iowa NO SCAMMERS
Got it from Rod N Race, when Rich still owned it.. never did make a 1/2 scale car out of it..bought an atv instead.. Rick ==============================================
jr. patrick in kingsport,tn. has some/a utes, he may have one to sell.He goes by g***y (i think) on here. real nice guy.
I think Cl***ic Fabrication started in south west England, but sold panels in California (maybe through Limeworks?), and then possibly moved out there. Fordson/Thames panel bodies are now with Pro Laminates, north of London (http://www.pro-laminates.co.uk/index.html)
He had my old thames ....theres a ute in florida...bill scirvin (sp) on here has it...maverick self had one too
LIFESTYLZ.. looking at the Prefect front / side panel, where the guard bolts on would require that swage to be reduced / removed, to almost flat to accomodate the pop guards.. Cant see it being too much of a challange to anyone with basic panel skills (anyone that is, EXCEPT TODD, dont let him anywhere near it) Lol..
Hey LIFESTYLZ. Found another old pic of a real early project of mine (from the early 70s).. This is an old 1948?? "Anglia" It has the same "Pop" 2 door body, and front guards, but an ugly "tombstone" shaped grille and different hood and side panels.. It shows the shape of the body / guard panel area, which is what your Prefect will need if a pop front end is going on...
I believe Bear Fibergl*** (if they're still around) makes panels to adapt Anglia front ends to Prefects. Looks like there are now two Bear Fibergl*** businesses. The one that makes Anglia parts is run by Grizbear in Allentown, Pa.
Pro Laminates has some good looking parts. I looked at Limeworks a while back, didn''t see anything. PopBrowns in the UK ( i think) has some parts as well.
