52 Olds, Any Ideas? Photoshop Please?

What kind of caps are those? Please don't holler at me, but I think some old school mags might look good on there. While we are at it, is there a 6 volt kit for the doors if I decide to do away with the handles. Don't know if I will, but just wondering. Again, thanks everyone, for the input.

If you are asking about the Don Dillard Olds - they look like 1954 Olds, maybe with a bullet, or maybe the stock center bump.

If you are asking about the car I photo-messed, that a 1950 Packard with trim ring. I like it with big fat cars, as it's plain and not used much, but really chromey.

I'll give you an idea of what each looks like:

Picture one, 2 coils cut up from and 2 inch lowering blocks out back

Picture 2, same 2 coils cut up front, same 2 inch lowering blocks, but this time flattened out rear spring pack and step notch the rear and reworked floor tunnel to keep diff from bottoming out and added the skirts and changed out the caps.

And this technically a 4 door too, well it was anyways.

 

Since you asked...I would lower it 2", give it a good srub with CLR, wax it and since you don't like the wheel covers, go with black steel wheels with a chrome center cap. Save the Moon discs for a land speed car

 

Very nice. So you took some leaves out of the back or dearched the springs?

All leafs are there just de-arched them all.

 

Here's my Olds 52 4-dr that i just recently sold. Shaved, bagged, Original 303, and 54 buick buckets and bezels.

 

The car is beautiful as it is. Lower it a bit, clean it up a bit, and drive it! (And why would you want to change out the hubcaps - the rest of us put those Olds caps on our cars!)

Lower it. Put the factory fender skirts on. Add '53-'55 Olds Fiesta spinner wheel covers all around. Drive and enjoy!

 

That's my point. I don't want to do what everyone else does. As for just cleaning it up and driving it, it does have some rusty spots that I need to take care of. If it didn't, I would leave it as is.

I would run some sort of cap on it, or just steel wheels. If you want some spider caps I have a set that fit olds lug pattern

I also have some stainless molding in my garage. I wont be home for another month or so and Im not sure if its for a 2 door or 4 but if you're still looking, I'll be sure to measure it when I get home for you. Send me a PM if you still cant find any in a month.

 

Do you have any pics of the front so I can see the headlight bezels better?

 

This is the only one I have but I will be getting the car today and can take more. I was able to find the lower rear fender stainless. It's damaged, but I think I can fix it. I still need the "spear for the right rear quarter, though.

I bought kestone smoothie smoothy chrome wheels for my 53 olds and they look really sharp. I paid 119 cd a piece. Black Beauty

 

Well.the beast is home! Drives pretty good, but seems tohave a low speed miss, so I guess I'll do the points , plugs, cap thing and see if that helps. Oil and filter change too. Maybe a heavier oil or additive since it does have blow by.
I've decided to do very little to it. The tune up, new rockers, lowe it a bit, put on the skirts, polish the pitted chrome, seat covers and that's about it. It's an old veteran and deserves a few battle scars. I'm really liking this tub so far.

I drove a 41 Pontiac with the same "knee action" style suspension as your olds and I cut the front coils a loop and a half...trimmed the snubbers down to about 1/2" tall and drove it all over the US. Yeah, on big bumps it'd hit the snubbers a little but over all it was pleasant to drive.
I can see it dropped with cut [lightly] front coils..not sure if your 52 has rear coils or leaf springs. If leaves, just use lowering blocks. If coils, find a pair of shorter coils and drop that ****er! I'd have to make up some patch panels to fix the rust holes and I'd sand it down, paint it with my old favorite...john deere blitz black!

Nice car! How many inches do you think you dropped with that one and a half coils? My plan was to cut two coils. Yes, the blitz black looks good and may be an option.

I like it Tom! Did u check jamco suspension for the springs? They'll make a set for my 54 bel air to my cars specs lowered 1,2 or 3in. for $146. As far as wheels, at the end of the day its YOUR build. Whatever wheels you want & screw everyone else! Don't take it personal guys, suggestions are always appreciated!

It looks like my original coils already have quite a bit of "sag" in them, so maybe cutting coils isn't a great idea. Fatman has lowered uprights, but I really can't afford them right now. The Ckers that are on it now are pretty high profile and seem to be keeping that front end up in the air.

If i were you and was on a tight budget i would lower it 4" in the back, loose the bumper guards, get some new firestone WWW, polish and paint the center of the stock hubcaps, flare skirts, move the license plate underneath the bumper, build a dual exhaust with chrome tips, rechrome the back bumper maybe and install some appleton spotlights - Done
