216/235 crankshaft pulley

    i need to swap crankshaft pulley from 1946 216 motor to a 1956 235 what is proper procedure to remove and install pulley on these engines?

    A typical damper puller..there's two 3/8 -16 holes buried under the grease.Normally the crank snout isn't drilled so a large hammer drives on the damper.Be sure to not beat directly on the damper,some use a piece of hardwood,I think a thick piece of aluminum works better if you have it.I also find dunking the damper in boiling water for 15 minutes makes it a bit easier to drive on. The pulley diameters are different from a 216 to the later 235's. This will affect the water pump speed depending if you're using a stock pump or an early pump on an adapter.......

    i will look again but i seen some holes but dont look like they are threaded

    heres another question i want to take out the 46 3 speed and put in a 39 3 speed with floor shifter does anyone know if this will work?

    Both of the ******s are side shift,right. Why not swap the linkage and shifter over to the 46?

    the 39 transmisson is a top shifter
