Been on here a while and thought i had done this all ready but better late than never i guess. Hi im Joel im currently stationed at Luke AFB AZ in glendale. I am a F16 Crewchief (jet mechanic) and A extremist MOPAR by religon type of guy. I currently own a 1957 Dodge d100 Stepside custom cab, with a 360/727/8-3/4 combo. I do all my own work except body, i would like to learn how to in the future. I have always owned 60s and 70s mopars but have slowly grown into a 50s mopar guy. I was a mechanic for 6 years before joining the service, working on everything but boats and airplains (hence i work on jets now) and specialized in industrial diesel and heavy equipment, but worked on regular everyday cars and trucks, and toying with hotrods any sparetime i had. Welcome home. If your around central ave and indian school on saturday nights, maybe we can check out your truck in person
Hi Joel, welcome to the HAMB. You sound just like a friend of mine here in Northern California, another serious MOPAR enthusiast. Let's see now, Gary has a 57 Dodge 2dr Suburban with the 426 engine that came from his first new car, a 65 Satellite, a 64 4dr Plymouth Wagon with a 440, his ramp truck is a late 60's Dodge, his daily drivers are a late model Chrysler 300 and a Plymouth Prowler and the cream of the crop is the 9-second '65 A/FX Coronet recreation he built himself. And, check out the front license plate he got from a buddy. Mike T.
Hi, yeah ive made it out to cental a few times, its just a little far for me, I am at the friday bellroad chilibombers cruise or mexteca/kmart cruse every week. If you ever go to those I will definatley see you. the few times ive been out to central there was only a handfull of cars but that was probabily 2 years ago, i will see about getting out there soon and seeing if it improved. @Vet65te thanks for the cool pics, those are some neat sounding cars, you moving to prescott? Im originally from there thats where i built the truck. My whole family is still up there in the dewey area. maybe i will see you at some of those shows, i go up there a few a year.
We're hoping to make the move to Prescott next year. We already belong to the Prescott Vette Club and a number of the members live in Dewey. We'll be there for the Annual Vette Show in late September. I'm stunned at the large number of car-people in the region. I have no doubt we'll meet up at one of the many car shows they have around Prescott. Mike T.
Welcome, what a great truck! I used to live in Glendale a couple years ago, lots of nice cruisers rolling around!
