Is Headliner Install really that tough? Outrageous range of quotes

    Love the if you can write like a girl. It's probably true?

    I wouldn't put the insulation in the roof, if the glue lets go you get a lumpy headliner. I've also seen the layers of insulation separate.

    hmm, yeah that would have been good to know, but It looks like it will still go in, might just have to use some adhesive.

    I'm going to attempt to sew and install my own.
    I did the door and kick panels and they came out better than OK, impressed my friends and I can say I did it myself. It's a model a so they are just flat panels, but still.............

    Think about it Detroit was spitting these things out 1 every few minutes (or faster) Some guy on the ***embly line was throwing them in pretty quickly, how hard can it really be?

    One factor no one mentioned. If you were in the upholstery business you might be ok with installing a customer supplied headliner - once. After that, probably not. Chances are the customer would bring you some cheap flimsy piece of **** that does not come near fitting. After struggling with it for twice as long as it would take to install a good headliner it would still look like ****. And the customer would be sore because his **** headliner looked like ****.

    Next time I wouldn't blame you if you quoted a price high enough to a) drive the customer away or b) make the agony worth while.
