Im looking to swap my rear springs to wider, modern ones, with a centered pin. Problem is, the only money I have is a $170 credit to my local pick-a-part. So before I spend all day wandering the lot laying under cars to measure, I thought I would ask. Does anyone know of a spring that would be good under my car? I dont know what to look for when picking one out. I know my stock spring is 49" from center eye to center eye, along the spring surface. I also know I will be making some new hangers for the new springs as the original was only 1 3/4" wide. Any suggestions?
I know a '76 four door nova's leaf springs are just about the right length for a 53/54 chevy sedan. I think they're 2 and 1/2"? wide. Sorry I'm not more help.
