  3. Skip...FX is really the only way to go on a '63. The great days of the Gas class was from the late 50's to the mid 60's when the Dart was virtualy anew car, and no one, I say NO ONE built a gasser out of a new car back then.

Early "A" bodies are the best dragcars ever.I have pondered the idea of putting a speedway axle under the front of mine.Good luck with the build ,and i cant wait to see progress pics.

Heres mine ,i hope it inspires you to get going on your build:

I'm salivating for you!! Go get yourself a video from Steve and Mike @ www.thefunnycarfarm.com. Then watch me work while they fiddle around with model cars, trivia, and cats and airplanes ! The Dart is a great platform for a build-up!! I know you are up to snuff with your fab work. If you have any questions, I'll help fill in the gaps. :)

i imagine you know that a few of the pics here are of '65 cars. my brother and i built a '64 dart back in '67 or so. we bought a 273 cu motor from out of a jr fueler and gutted the dart. it eventually ran in the 12's. i must be getting senile or something but, i don't remember, did the '63's look like the '64's? as far as i am concerned, all the darts look better with the '66 front end. i have acquired 3 of these in the past to build a copy of landy's dart with but, never got anywhere with them. there is a guy on evilbay with a gutted '63 belvedere for $1100 i have been eyeing to get and awb it. just can't get the money up. whatever you do with this will look cool.

63 and 64 Darts look almost identical ,except for the grills and hood trim.I think the back window is a tiny bit different as well.I cant wait to see this guy build this car .I am diehard Mopar freak nowdays ,and am even considering growing a Mullet ...
