    See the trailer @ http://dukesofhazzard.warnerbros.com/
With extras like Willie Nelson it should be pretty good. I was always a big fan of the show when I was a kid, and sometimes they play the re-runs on cable..

Well I might see it to support Willie, but Jessica Simpson will never fill Daisy's roll the way Catherine bBach did. Plus I wonder how many of those jumps are really cars like the old show and how many are computer graphics? How many of those things can be left and who's gonna crash them if they are?

Yeah.. Jessica Simpson won't cut it...

I was wondering that too, how many Dodge Chargers are left to destroy after the series?

Well, for what it's worth, we just interviewed a pro stuntman and got to talkin' about the DoH movie. And I asked him exactly that: how much CGI is used in the film? He said he didn't know about that, but he could ***ure us that he and his cohorts were not called on for the film. Meaning that there were, if nothing else, ALOT fewer cars used than there were during the years of the series back in the late 70's--early 80's.

Also, Lord help me for saying so, but I absolutely LOVE how utterly dumb Jessica Simpson is. Noone will replace Catherine Bach and I still would leave everything for her, but I, for one, am looking forward to watching Jessica jump in and out of the Golden Eagle for two hours...

I say NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Read the script. Thought it ****ed. Jessica looks like a ****ing train wreck in all the photography. And what a diva! I don't want to give up info on the "plot", but I think they really cheezed out. And I loved the Starsky and Hutch flick, so I'm not opposed to cheeze. Anyway...just my opinion for what it's worth.

I sure hope they don't destroy anymore I think they destroyed like 250+ on the original. I don't hold much hope for the movie but it might be good for a laugh

    hahaha

You guys act like the original series wasn't completely cheezed out and done with ****py effects.

The new movie crashes the hell out of some real Chargers, take a look at the trailer. Catherine Bach wasn't a Harvard grad, she was a waitress at a ****py bar. So Jessica Simpson will do nicely in the role, all I really want to see is T&A from Daisy Duke anyway. Knoxville and Stifler crack me up. I'm sure this movie is going to have some laughs, hot chicks, and big sliding Mopars, just like the show. And maybe a moral to the story at the end too. :)

Catherine Bach never acted like a bimbo the way Jessica Simpson does. She always acted smart-probably was the brains behind Uncle Jesse. Also the behind behind Uncle Jesse, which was just fine.:D

I have mixed feelings... Seeing the General being chased by late model Crown Vics just does not feel right. Seems like Luke is not the same character as portrayed by Tom Wopat. I hope Johnny Knoxville does not make Luke a dumb***.

I am looking forward to Jessica! But she will never top the image of Catherine Bach that was burned into my 8 year old psyche.

I must admit it is comforting to know i am not the one worried bout the effect of pop stars and late model luxury cars on this movie. If the movie fails buy the original seasons on dvd.

I feel only the "original" cast was worth watching. When the Bo and Luke left the show and they brought in the Cousins, it ****ed ***. When Bo and Luke came back, the budget was too small and the show went south.

I'm going to go out on a limb, this movie is going to leave Me (and many others) with a lot to be desired.....

    You know...

That last jump, where they land on the freeway... you can see the front fender buckle... but I'm betting the jump is CGI and the landing was from the car getting dropped off the back of a truck...

They say that during the filming of the in the series, they pretty much destroyed the 1 Charger per jump sequence, due to frame damage.

Probably that is why the jumped over the same spots so often.. to reuse footage... and save cars. LOL

You guys sure are making a big deal out of a stupid but fun TV show turned ino a probably just as stupid and hopefully just as fun movie.

IT's NOT "A Lion in Winter"
It's not even "The Knack, and how to use it"

It's only a freakin movie! so don't freakin freak out about it.

Sheesh, you'd think they were tossing your religion in a toilet or something....

And Id rather see Christine Aguileria in it but Jessica will do...
After all, she grew up the part!

I thought that 'ol Burt was real good in Boogie Nights... maybe it was Heather Grahme that distracted me (sweet, sweet Roller Girl).

  20. Here's my picks for the HAMBzard dream team...

CHEATER CARL should play Luke Duke.
MIKE ZENOR should play Bo Duke.
HELLBOUND HOOTCH should play Daisy Duke.
BOB K should be Unkle Jesse.
    FAT HACK should play Kooter.
    BOBBLEED should play Enos.
    RYAN should play Roscoe.
    FIDDYFOUR should play Boss Hogg.

    I'll be the stunt driver.

    OMG...

NOTHING could be The Knack! I'm laughing just thinking about it! Second only to "The Magic Christian"

  22. Good casting Joe.

Catherine Bach went to my High School, a few years older than me, close enough for the fantasies to be real at the age of 12:D. Her folks still live a couple miles away.

I was always a fan of Catherine Bach as Daisy, and I know Jessica is ding bat, but this picture kind of makes me wonder if she might not be OK as daisy. Course I have not had to listen to her yet.

I wanted to hate this movie, I really really did. But, I have to admit that it's good if you take it for what it is. Mindless fun. I still can't accept Burt Reynolds as Boss Hogg ( he came across as creepy and weird) or Willie Nelson as Uncle Jessie. Why didn't they get Bo Hopkins to play Roscoe? Who knows. I doubt it would have been as good if it hadn't had the talents of the Broken Lizard crew. You know them as Super Troopers.

Here's the breakdown. Would I want to see it in a multiplex. NO. At a drive-in with a bunch of friends sitting around in lawn chairs, picking at the changes they made? Hell yeah! Cause thats exactly how we watched it.

There's a big story on the new movie in the current Hot Rod. I guess they smashed up 26 more chargers on this one and most of the jumps are real. The tell how it is done in the story and how suprised they where when the car flew that far.

Jessica was a bad idea but I will wait for the DVD

If I could do it over again I would wait until it comes out on video, I was actually waiting for it to be over, the car scenes were pretty good when they were just holding it sideways for good amounts of time, but other then that not to much. Typical movie that has a few good clips here and there.

  30. It just don't look good. Bo and Luke smoking pot in a college dorm? It's like a parody of the real deal. Yeah, the early Dukes were kind of dark and adult compared to the rest, but most people liked the show because it was mindless fun and your kids could watch along with you.

According to what the story claims, the Chargers they wreck were all pretty clapped out - one guy sold them his driver and his parts car, got both back, the driver in good shape, the parts car was used for a jump. That was the deal, he sold them for $1.25 so long as he got to buy them back for $1.50.
