can we camp on the beach? i think Eli wants to bring the camper.

  2. I just got back from the beach, this will be insane! It is so epic on the shore. Waves were going off, giant rain rolled in, I could feel the excitement of our show as I visualized it all! Can't wait.

My house will be open for anyone that doesn't have a place to park and crash. My yard is just about big enough to camp in if you wanna rough it. There is a cool dirt parking lot that my buddy said he camped at in his Van right there... but the coppers did wrap on the door and chased him off in the early am. Hey, where is a guy to go when all you have is a van and a surfboard?

Check back with me Monday about the Berkley guys.

  4. Here you can see where we will set up the starting line.

The neat part is that behind the wall is the ocean with a nice break and surfers in the water. Cars, bikes, and boards man!

Mel, is the beach north of Asbury??? That last pic looks like you're looking south towards Asbury.....Berkley-Carteret and COnvention Hall off in the distance???

  12. yes!

  13. Pat, nice to see you yesterday. Email me for more details...

  14. Brucie, you are correct sir!

  15. Pic of a bike on beach in 1948. Not sure if this bike is an entry. I'm getting so many pics of bikes, and guys are bringing multiple bikes. So for the race, some just to show off.

As all the entries send in pics, I will line them all up in the program so we know what is racing.

Sometimes asking older gents for pics is a tough job. Even I understand as my skills on the computer are limited.

I tell you though, the more I talk and meet with people, the more my excitement grows. Meeting and talking with lots of new great people. They sure are enthused too!

  16. Oh, forgot the pic I'm so excited.

  19. Ok, I just spoke with the Berkley Carteret. NO DISCOUNTS AVAILBLE

Turns out there is a chess convention being help at the hotel, and also a square dancing event/conference in the hotel "our" same weekend. Bummer! The place is almost booked up.

It is a neat place to stay, and very close to our event. There are plenty of places to stay though. Check out anything close to the shore or a little inland.

Search anything near Asbury Park, zip is 07712

    Offer still stands.
If you are broke but wish to attend. My yard you can camp in. My garage and tools are here if you need them as well.

I think the Flyers CC may need to borrow my trailer for a race car. What's mine is yours!

  20. I have a few pics, but want to save them for the program. Eye candy!!! Get those pics in peoples...

Any more details on the timeline yet? Friday's happenings/Saturdays wrap up? Thinking of driving the 36 down and making a long weekend out of it.

do it jim! we're planning on heading down early-ish friday, and coming home sunday morning.

the "WE" right now consists of me, Slick Willy, Moose (probably), Tony (?), Dave Lacroix...

could be a great caravan down together if the timing works out.

we all have details to sort out, so we're in the same boat. i need to find a way to tow the T roadster down, i think Bill wants to trailer his car too, so he can beat on it. we'll see about the others.

but it should come together. everyone is so stoked on this event, it has to be a success.

talked to Pete about it? i haven't spoken with him in a while.

Just barely put out an email to the 'Boys about it. I'm betting most are at least thinking (dreaming) about it!

I'm planning on doing this event for sure. The roadster has a fresh motor that was test driven yesterday so I'm pumped.
