we bought 2 cars with ***les for $800. One had a good running 259 and an auto.. the other no motor/trans.

we swapped in a mustang gas tank and got the motor runnin nice. Someone had started the body work so we finished it up... we nosed and decked it and lost all the side emblems in the process...

I'll never be able to talk her into sanding a car again! lol

    all sealed up.

    she painted it!

it still needs to be wet sanded and polished but she did all right!

since neither one of us has any sort of sewing skills, we came up with this:

    gotta have a side kick...

    all done! (for now)...

she said it wasn't done til the stickers were on it...

She starts her senior year on Monday and really wanted to drive it on the first day.. we've been bustin our ****s the last 2 weeks to get it ready and I think it turned out *****in! She loves it and I wouldn't trade the father/daughter time for ANYTHING!!!!

Great job! Looks better than mine, had to stop it this summer...Hope she'll have fun as much as I had with her Stude. It's funny to hear people ask themself what is this model when you remove all the tags, 1/2 time it's a Rambler! :)
    Congrats on the job!

    Hey, Killer;

Please p*** "kudos" on to your daughter.

Some of us are very glad to see both of you save another Stude. It looks *very* nice. Body looks straight in the pics. She should be rather proud of her work (& yours', too).

I'm rather partial to white w/chrome rims on Lark-type bodies.

Glad to see you used a Stude engine. I think they're worth the effort. :D .

FWIW; there are still NOS interior pieces still available, reasonable, if that particular style & color, appeal. Interesting job on the seats. Upholstery skills come w/practice. :)

The SDC (Studebaker Drivers Club) would be a good place to make a showing.

    (Because the old-timers {hard-core resto-only types} are dying off, & so the need to attract younger folks -- & their modified Studes... :D :D :D ! )

As for the sanding... eventually, she'll see some body/paint jobs that are as close to perfect as possible, talk to the bodyman/painter, & find out a lot of it is... sanding. & she'll realize she can get that close, too. W/patience... a lot of it, + effort, too. & I'm guessing she'll get you to help... :D ...

    Marcus...
