Looking for 4,6,or 8 Stromberg setup With or w/o Carbs. Do they exist? ar am I hunting Bigfoot here? Thanks
Google "Ford FE forum" and there are one or two forums out there that someone might be able to help you out on. I have an FE and all I have found are 2-4 and tri-powers.
I have seen pics of 6 97's and a man-e fre, But can't find them for sale anywhere. Vintage speed advertises them but don't have any availible.
Im running dual four barrels on my 55 and I have a tri power that came off the engine when I bought it. The dual quads run better than the tri power did, and they arent to hard to find either. Something you might want to consider if you cant find a six carb set up.
Pretty sure that 6x2 FE intakes were available in the 352/390 days. You may want to contact http://www.lakeheaders.com/UFabIntakes.html about their U-Fab intakes. While they don't show any yet for FE's, they'd be worth talking to.
I think I have found 1. http://www.holmanmoody.com/parts/hardpart.htm Check out this pig I just wonder how hard will it be to tune?
I have seen some of those at the Charlotte AutoFair Swap Meet...some complete, others partially complete..... never paid attention to the prices .....as I do not have a FE Ford.... Lot's of H-M stuff shows up there.....it is in their back yard almost..... .
I've had three or four 6 duece Edelbrock intakes for FE's over the years. I haven't seen one for a few months but they come up a couple times a year if yu are patient. They bring between $500-700 usually for a bare manifold and then you get to buy the linkage and build six carbs and air cleaners. It's a fairly pricey proposition but still very cool. The weber setup from Holman Moody is a brand new piece that they still make.
expect to pay close to $500 per 48IDA WEBER carb. So there's $2 grand without the cost of the intake.... Unless you feel like making adapter plates to rochesters or something. But damn they do look cool...
Unclescooby, That is the Long lost daytona that they thought had disappeared forever.. Turns out it was in a storage unit. Here's the story on CSX2287. second article down the page http://www.saac.com/articles.htm pictures http://www.norcal-saac.org/archive/csx2287_pics.htm Here's the car on the salt back in the day
the u-fab ones wont work because part of the intake is under the valve cover. (just saw that someone posted about it)
Thanks Revhead. I'm buildin somethin like that right now and wanted to see more pictures. Draggin *** is right about the intakes too. No U-fabs on FE's. It would be a U-wholelotta-fab intake if you did it.
I purchased an Edelbrock 6x2 intake a couple of weeks ago after some intense looking. Paid a real reasonable price too. If you're looking still, PM me and I'll forward your the email addresses of some others for sale. Be warned, they are not cheap, like $400 or more for the intake. Steve
And, before anyone asks what is that motor in.... Kiwi hot rod due to be coming to America next year to attend a few events.
Weiand, Offenhouser and Edelbock all make 6 x 2 manifold for the 332/352/390 engine. I ran one with 6 stromberg 94's for a few years, but have no idea where to find one now. I am looking for 430 engine parts,,,got any ideas, contact me Brian Perrenot BPerrenot@houston.rr.com 281-793-1560
