Hi all, hope someone can help with my latest project. I'm in the planning stages of building my '37 dodge coupe. It's getting a rebuilt 318 and a 904 automatic transmission and I plan on keeping the stock solid front axle. The problem I see right now is that the stock steering box is pretty bulky and is mounted on the top of the frame rail, so it looks like it'll be right in the way of the exhaust manifold when the motor's in. Anybody have a suggestion of another box I could swap in that could be made to work with the stock front end setup and possibly the stock steering column?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Perhaps you could trial fit the assembly and see if you can get away with a manifold swap or something?
Who knows...maybe it will fit as is!
You could offset the engine slightly too.
I'd toss it in and see what your up against instead of assuming problems...
