My local U-Pull-n-Pay has never seemed to get a car older than 1980 but I decided to take a walk around the yard today and came across a few older cars, nothing I'm interested in, but the Galaxy looks pretty cool. A worker there told me they will probably go to the crusher soon.

I meant to ask if there is anything worth getting. I have limited storage space (and money) so I don't think I could get anything too big.

    Any advice would be great.
    Thanks, »Keith

The Ford is not a convertible, the top has been surgically removed.

...not my style of cars either but you're right, it's a shame for them to end up crushed.

  8. Look closely at where the roof meets the quarter panel on that t bird.....A wee bit of rust me thinks.....

Those could probably be used for gasser builds... I could be wrong..

  10. Grab the bumper of the Corvair too, they make excellent single grill bars for 50's cars

Hey, my cousin lives there. Runs a landscape business. Nice weather there I hear.

  15. Looks like the ones I go to quite often. Nobody else wants to get sweaty or dirty in this town so they're all mine.

  16. Maybe a 9inch in the t-bird and the galaxy

The T'bird might have wiring for sequetial(sp) tail lights...

  18. Surprised to see anything that old in a Florida yard, rust normally gets them before they get that old. Looks like a '56 Ford or Merc hardtop next to the Corvair. Disappointed to see drum brakes on the front of the '68 Galaxy, if they were discs, the whole disc brake assembly and spindle is a bolt-on for '54-'56 Fords. Lots of good stuff left on the decapitated '54 Ford (ball joint suspension indicates it's a '54 rather than '53.)

I wonder if these belonged to a guy that wouldn't sell them because he was going to fix them up someday.
    OK you've heard this before....

I bet that is what happened. Dude died and family called in the scrapyard to do a yard cleanup.

T-Bird looks in the best shape. Tough to save any of the others.

  24. Someday you will think back and wish you had dragged that 56 Ford Vicky home and stored it away.
