Does anyone know of a car or truck with a speedometer (or multi-gauge) with at least 5 inches diameter showing?
This needs to be the gl*** that shows inside the bezel.
If so could you tell me the year, make, and diameter of gl*** that shows.
    Thanks

I'm making my own mechanical "monster" tach, using an early 60's Corvette tach...

it's a match for the speedo, & measures right around 7"

Is 7" the diameter of the gl*** that shows?

    Thanks for the info.
Might me a possiblity, but may be too large. 5 to 5.5 inner diameter of the showing gl*** would be ideal.
Your 38 Nash sure looks like my 37 Buick Roadmaster, but in much better shape.

At one time I had a speedo from a pre 1970 T-Bird. It was round. I don't remember what year, but I do remember it being in the size range you want.

The aftermarket gauges that are called 5" actually have only 4.75 inches of gl*** showing. I need at least 5" gl*** because I have a modern speedometer that I want to hide in the dash and stick a round bezel in front of it for a vintage look. The speedometer I have is 5" diameter numbers at the outside of the numbers.
AD trucks may be a possiblility. Can someone measure theirs for me?
57 Chevy cars also may work.
    Thanks

The 41 & 52 Roadmaster gauges were the first ones I tried.
I'm trying to use Buick, then GM, then anything for parts.
The 41 Raodmaster has a shown gl*** diam of 4.75.
The 52 Roadmaster has a shown gl*** diam of 4.625

Good lead on a gl*** source, but I need the chrome or SS bezel too.
    Thanks

Try a clock shop. I know they are hard to find, but they should be able to get you a bezel that you could use.

I have a speedo out of a mid-30's Dodge. It measures 5 3/4" and has a convex lens and chrome bezel. Would this work for you?

If you need a bezel and gl*** that fits it, what about dissecting an old spotlight? Clear gl*** fitted to a nice round chrome bezel. That would keep folks guessing!

I'm suprised I didn't mention them... I have a CJ -5 sitting next to my other project... I could measure tonight if someone doesn't have the answer sooner...

So does 5 inches of gl*** show when the gl*** is installed in the bezel?

    Magnum Wheel Man,
Thanks for all your suggestions. That would be great if you could measure CJ-5 Speedometer for gl*** that shows.

Thanks everyone for all your suggestions.

No, the gl*** itself is 5", I think about 1/16" of the gl*** is under the bezel on each side.

    henry28,
Unfortunately the AD bezel would hide part of the numbers on the speedometer I'm using. I need the bezel to be slightly more that 5" inside dia.
    Thanks for your help.
