I've been looking for another project car and have found a '31 coupe that's remarkably straight and rust free (been in the desert for over 20 years). Problem is, it comes with spare parts I don't need nor do I have the room to store them. It has the original drivetrain as well as a spare engine, trans, and front axle. I won't be using ANY of it for this project, but if I can't get rid of it all QUICKLY, I'll have to p*** on the car. The question ultimately is.... are there HAMBers that need these and is there much value to the parts?
Of course. There are plenty of "A" restorers. Post the items here and fordbarn. Also, you may want to do some research on what the parts go for. Good luck with the purchase!
It'll need new wood (or replace with tubing), but the bottoms of the cowl, doors, 1/4's and deck lid all look good. Someone "filled" the roof years ago with flat metal and a TON of sheetmetal screws, but nothing some quality time with the mig won't cure. The fenders are a bit rough but repairable, as it'll remain full fendered. It's been well preserved with a few coats of hand-brushed paint too.
Guys are always looking for stock Model A engine, drivetrain and suspension pieces so they shouldn't be hard to get rid of. Work it right and the buyer (s) may even help you remove them. My guess is that before the day is over you will have a couple of PM's asking what pieces on the car you want to get rid of an what you will want for them.
