I've only done business with Mooneyes two times. The first time I ordered a set of finned aluminum valve covers, engine oil pan, and a TH-350 oil pan. The engine oil pan and the transmission oil pan were a special discount package. A good deal but, THEY SENT ME A TH-400 PAN. So, I had to pack the damn thing up and cart it across town, and send it back on my nickle. They did send me the right pan and they did credit my card for the shipping. But it was a pain. The second time was two months ago. I lost the oil cap for my valve covers somewhere on the way to the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green. When I got home I called and ordered a replacement. The gent that took my call went out of his way to be helpful. The replacement cap came in about a week. I was a happy camper. At that point Mooneyes was shooting 50-50 with me. But not for long. Today, when I came home there was a UPS package from Mooneyes with yet another oil cap and an invoice for yet another credit card charge. I called and they said send it back. So, in the morning I will cart my *** across town to the UPS place and send it back. Mooneyes has good stuff. I really like everything I have bought from them. And anyone can make a mistake. But how can they stay in business if they screw up every order? Or am I the only one?
I found that the best way to deal with companies is to go and pick it up, or have someone you know do it. Less pain, even though its not always an option.
They sent me the wrong floor mats about 6 months ago and said " just put them on the porch and we will have them picked up"........... took forever to get the right ones but they finally arrived. Jeffrey
When will people learn?!?!? From what it sounds like, if you order from them you are asking for trouble. They haven't burned me, and after all I've heard, they damn sure won't get a chance. I'd do without before I'd deal with them. JH
yeah - i like their stuff too but they screwed up my order. I ordered a whole **** load of stuff for my bird and I was short a dash knob. I called them and they said it was on back order....when the hell were they going to tell me.....i guess they were waiting for me to call...as far as I'm concerend...if they make the stupid mistake of sending you the wrong part - they should let you keep what ever it is they sent you plus correct the problem by sending you the right part. I dont know about you - but my time is limited (with 3 kids) to work on my car. WHen I finally drag all my tools out to the yard and I take everything apart to only find out the *******s sent me the wrong part.....I'm freakin furious....AAARRGGG!!!!
They don't screw up every order. Just your orders! I placed a t-shirt and sticker order (had just got a new toolbox) I ordered 10 stickers and 3 shirts. Two shirts were the wrong size and the backordered 4 decals. I ordered the big 12" Mooneye logo and they shipped it in a flimsey envelope stuffed with 3 shirts. It was folded all to hell, but salvagable. I called them and they appologized and reshipped the shirts and even reshipped the sticker... and I didn't ask them to. ...of course it came in worse shape than the first! But at least they tried.
Ive never had a problem. Sometimes i think that people need to relax a little bit. Things do happen and stuff isnt always in stock.
i ordered new spider caps for my car, when they got to my house they were bent and one of the bullets that covers the lug nut was busted off. i sent them back, and asked for a full refund. still waiting for the money to make it to my account, hopefully i'll get it today.
I've avoided ordering anything from them and probably always will based on their notorius reputation. It's unfortunate, but I hate dealing with problem companies. Especially when it's THEIR problem and they don't take care of so I have to.
I've had my problems with them so I don't order anymore. At VLV I bought a steerign wheel from them. Told the guy I'd take one as long as I could walk away from the trailer with it, then proceeded to tell him how much their mail order ****ed...
Yes Donnie, still waitin for yer comment here. We know how much you support this well run mail order service that Moony provides. Just look at all the satisfied customers. And that is just a small % of the happy campers! KNUX!
Tried to order there 5 gauge mechanical set in black, they were out for over 2.5 months.Gave up on that idea because if they cant get em now what happens if i have one go bad how longwill i have to wait?.Also they tend to change gauge manufacturers often.
OK GUYS - Listen up. Being in the Distribution business there are rules per-say on mail order distribution. Take note for future ordering. 1. If the company you buy from sends you the wrong part, then you call them and discuss it and get the new part ordered and insist that THEY pay for the freight return as they errored on the order. INSIST on it. If they want your business they should. My comapny does it, no questions asked. We screwed up- we pay. 2. If you ordered the wrong part, IT IS NOT my companies fault and you should be a man and fess up and order the right one and return the wrong one and you pay freight for the return. I am here to provide a service, have fun but first and foremost to make you happy, bBUT I must make a profit to pay my people and make a living. 3. If you recieve a part that is damaged, call the frieght company right away and make a claim. Yes it is a pain but it happens and thats what you need to do. 4. If you are lucky enough to be there when the truck arrives - open the box right away to inspect the item - DO SO WHY THE TRUCK DRIVER IS THERE. If it is damaged, refuse it or ask the freight driver for a damaged claim sheet to fill out. 5. If the box is damaged bad when the truck driver is there- DO NOT even accept it - refuse it due to damage and return to vendor and the truck frieght company picks it up. After the claim process call the vendor and reorder your part. 6. If you are not home and sign a card if you want them to leave it WITHOUT a signature - YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN and have no claiming rights to any damage. DO NOT EXPECT the vendor to send you a new one, they should not as it is the freight company who is responsible BUT- BUT, if you signed a leave card - you fK'd up and have NO CLAIM. OK - everyone understand ? I hope this helps. I have been in the distribution business for 25 years so I have some history. My company ships out thousands of packages per day so use the rules above. Cob
Yeah and when you call and confirm that they HAVE the part in stock, then it doesn't show, you call back and they say it's been backordered, then they ****ED up and your ******** little CYA **** doesn't count...
It's not my ******** CYA for Mooneyes. Don't put up with it. Cancel the order and and go buy it somewhere else. I don't give a **** what Mooneyes does. A lot of small companies have that problem. I was giving advise on shipping/recieving erors and advise on what to do - as per the orginal post. Millions of dollars invested in computer software / real time inventory has been a superior tool for my company. A puller pulls the part / electronically reads the bar code / inputs quan***y pulled and a Radio frequency sends it to the mainframe and adjusts it. we run a order report daily. 99.7% daily fill rate. Ivntory 99.99999999% accurate per inventory cycle. 50,000 packages shipped a day. Cob
Yeah but coming into a ***** fest about Moon and giving the advice you did is bound to get you some smart *** replies... I happened to be the one... this time... have a nice day... drive on through....
YEA - you're right. Ignore what my advise on shipping/recieving procedures **** etc. Waste of time- eh. Not enough funny **** to read. Sorry guys - Ignore what I typed and keep posting other company F'K ups ! It makes for good reading. Cob MRRRRRRRRRROWWWWWWWWW - driving through " Last time I checked - I pretty much knew it all - until a 5 year old asked me to open his pencil box for him. My wife ordered a set of white face guages for me for Christmas. When the package arrived, she didn't open it, she just wrapped it. Christmas morning I open it and its black face guages. I called Moon and they said send them back and they would send out the correct ones. End of January comes and I finally get my guages in the mail and guess what, they are black face guages. Call them again, and finally in mid March I got my white face guages. **** MOON EYES. Over 3 months to get the **** I ordered and they WERE in stock.
